Thank god American Eagle has the brakes on the giant helix. Otherwise, it wouldn't be my favorite coaster at the park. Although before the last last helix, those brakes are a little too strong.

I'm hearing rumors that trains have been spotted in a Great America Parking Lot. I don't believe it, but I do have people saying it's true. I just wanted to let everyone know to keep an eye out. I hope it's true because a train is a good sign of some good change, coaster or not.
Will the "new" trains for Chang help out Iron Wolf a lot? We always assume it's the trains, but maybe that part of the ride is just really bad, and there is nothing you can do to fix it. Georgia Scorcer you don't feel the bumping your head at all (at least for me), but maybe the track is just a little different in order for that not to happen. I know it does the same inversion as Iron Wolf, but maybe it's just a little higher off the ground. Actually though, the inversion for Iron Wolf isn't the rough spot, but rather the part right after it. I wish somehow someone can get the dimensions of the harnesses on Iron Wolf (especially how wide near a persons head), and than the dimensions on another stand up B&M (Georgia Scorcher, Riddler's Revenge, Mantis).

When Iron Wolf opened up until the late 90's or early 00's the ride was butter smooth. So the layout is fine. I'd imagine the track hasn't gotten in that bad a shape else it probably wouldn't be running. Really the only thing that leaves is the trains, or the appearance of the narrower restraints, though I seem to remember it getting alittle rougher right before and it's gotten progressively worse every year.
It'd be awesome if they put the new trains on and they work and it goes back to smooth. If that happens will probably go back to being my #1 standup.

"Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is already in the process of removing the Chang roller coaster, which will be replaced by a large water park expansion named Bonzai Beach for 2011. When I asked Mark about Chang he had an interesting response, explaining that he was always bothered by the ride, and felt it was a glaring example of what was wrong with the previous Six Flags management. You see, the ride's name was odd and didn't exemplify what the ride did or the fun you could have on it. It was just sorta slapped down without much effort and was never really a good fit for the park. When it reopens at another park (still a mystery) in 2011 (not 2010), expect it to be a whole new experience, with a distinct theme, story, colors, etc."

But to tell you the truth, I would much rather see it go to SFStL. I feel like if they got Chang, their coaster line up would look a lot better than it is now.
poor wolfie rip ( hopewe get a neww bm wingrider for next year!11!
So obviously the cars are for Iron Wolf then since they've already sent them to us? Why would they send the cars here 1 year before the coaster if they weren't going to used on Wolf? I'm still having some doubts that we will see the actuall ride come here, but you never know. Every park is getting something major for 2011 so wether it's Bizaaro or something else at least something is on the way.
So Chang is going to be refurbished then during the next year, so is it possible that they would alter the ride at all, adding more inversions or something. I mean this was obviously already planned and in the works if it's going through while the company is in bankruptcy.
Unfortunately....It looks like no new rides next year at this point
that doesn't even make seance. Iron Wolf is a major attraction to the general public, it is the first Stand up coaster for any six flags park I don't think they would change it that much. maybe add new trains but I think that's about it.
Somebody go there and suffer through a ride on IW to check the parking lot for the new trains before they stick them in a storage bldg! If anyone sees them they should get a photo and put it on here. Can someone randomly wander to the employee parking lot from the front parking lot to check or do they frown upon such things??
I really think Iron Wolf needs a new station too. It is so narrow and hard to get towards the back when its full. And the people in line for the front ALWAYS block the entrance to the station.
^And get ejected out of the park? Sure, like I would do that? No.

Who knows, but i've done it twice
Same, I walked around there to take some pictures of the skyline...you can get some great shots from there. Also, when they were building TDK you could see right in.
