Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I don't know what additional requirements there are for new rides, but for existing rides, each ride is weight tested by maintenance with either water dummies or weight bags. After weight testing, each roller coaster train must cycle 50 times and each flat ride cycles 25 times.

If you use a ruler from where the train track is by the Demon rock (with the eyes on it), it comes to the area right where that white van is. I wonder if they took out the track when building this coaster. I don't see the track past that Demon rock.

I'm sure they took it out. The crane and backhoes would have squished it.
Too bad there isn't a little airtime hill over where the train will travel.

They did remove the track. Moreso for the construction equipment than the coaster track going over it. Same reason they didn't pour the last couple footers until the whole rest of the ride was complete.

Well X-flight is starting to look great to me !!! I don't care if its slow, short or force-less. I'm just happy we got a NEW ride not something relocated from another park like SFA.

But what I wanted to ask you all is how long do u think X-flight line will be on a regular day and will it bring down the line for S:UF and the dark knight??

I think nothing could bring down S:UF line because that's the first coaster you see when you pull in the parking lot, and its the closest to the gate so people say " lets go on that first" but that's just what I think.

^This is a hard question to answer because it depends on whether or not the attendance for the park is the same, or goes down. A reason why the attendance could go down could be because of the gas prices potentially reaching $5.

So, if attendance goes down, than every ride would be emptier. However, let's say attendance stays the same. If that's the case, remember their is no Iron Wolf anymore even though Iron Wolf didn't get a whole lot of people though. What could happen is that the rides that people think that are worst in the park, could go down in line time. And yes, the other way of thinking is that a ride like Raging Bull, Superman, or V2 will have smaller lines. Or, this could even effect the waterpark. Maybe, some people won't even go to the waterpark on a particular day or shorten it by a couple of hours because of a new coaster which is going to take more time in the regular park. In general though, the train of thought is that the first year any ride comes out, it's going to get a really big line (unless the ride is really horrible or has really, really great capacity), and years after a ride is built the lines start decreasing.

I know I'm going a little overboard with this question you posed, but the right side of the park for many of the ride's lines could increase, and left side could decrease. Since X-Flight should bring in foot traffic, maybe Demon will see an increase along with American Eagle, Raging Bull, Revolution, Viper, Giant Drop, the waterpark, etc.

I expect it to be at least 90-120+ minutes in summer. It will be advertised on Coke cans and probably on TV. It isn't going to remain a secret. Many people will likely run to this first. So it should lessen the line for everything else. Hopefully it loads faster than SUF. People ride SUF early because they know it's popular and has a slow line. I'm there before the gate opens when I go, and a lot of people head the Southwest direction first.

^^I think the line time will depend on how lengthy these trains are. The way I see the ride right now is that it looks like it's going to be run like Superman in which the train has to come back all the way to the brakes which are the very end of the ride in order to send another one out. Batman is the same way, but Batman also feels like it zips through the whole course. This is different than a ride like the Demon, or Whizzer where there are halfway points. The reason I talk about length is because Superman is a lengthy train, and that's a reason why I feel it takes so long for it to get out of the station because the employees have to walk further to check restraints, and get to their positions. Well, if the length of that train (Superman) is similar to this one, I think it will be just as bad. By looking at picture of the Swarm train, I really just can't tell about the length of the train, so I can't say whether or not that this ride will be a little faster than Superman or not.

^Good point, BP. Probably would be worse than Superman than. Also, in regards to the loading process since everyone comes from one gate on each side, than that means their will be more walking for the guests to get to their seats. This ride has one gate for everyone to load I think, and one gate for everyone to exit.

Coming from personal experience with X2 which has a very slow moving line. What really kills it is post-split. X Flight has 8 rows, which means once you are past the split each train has 16 seats. At X2, even with a regulated split, 2 train operation, and a grouper controlling the amount of people in the station, i've still waited over 45 minutes post-split.

Always funny after the queue house when you are near the station and you hear the person on their cellphone next to you say "about to get on."

It won't have higher capacity than SUF, when the train parks everyone will need to get out of their seats and walk completely out of the station before the gates can open to load the next train. Unlike SUF where when the train parks the gates can open and let the next group of people on. The only reason it would ever have higher capacity is if SUF had a really slow crew.

I had a bad feeling about that. X Flight will also hold 4 less riders per train too.

^ Um, check your stats. X-Flight will have 8 cars per train for 32 riders per train just like Superman.

If the frame work is done then the station looks nothing like DDD at sfog! !!! But agean I don't know if there done.

So about the line thing. I don't think gas prices can mess with the attendence. But I would think the line for X-flight wont be too bad because the crowds in may aren't that bad until summer vacation hits.

It's going to be quite funny watching the entire world run to X-Flight on Opening Day to find out it isn't open yet.

I didn't even notice that before. Might help it go a tad faster.

Person overheard who sprinted on Opening Day
"I'M FIRST in line for... crap"

Can't wait for the 12th though. If the lines are super bad I guess I know what we will be using our exit passes on :)
