With the RC removal stuff, it makes me think of 2001 when we got 2 coasters. Perhaps they'll put in the Big Daddy Woodie, then relocate another smaller coaster for RC's spot. I highly doubt it though, it'll be a BARE spot once again.
Also, they won't put the County Fair stage in Mardi Gras since they already have a stage

We know there is a coaster in IW's spot. I do think we get a ride and a show as well. I think the ride is in RC's spot. I think the show is a stunt show in SWA.

Not all this year though
Would you pass out if all this happened makin it the largest announcement in park history?! LOL ;D As for taking out original things from the park, I will always stand up for that. Hell, I even lost it when they effed up Hometown Square all because of a gazebo haha ;D But when Cajun was announced in 2003, I wasnt an enthusiast who appreciated the original historical qualities of a park back then! I was a kid who only cared about coasters. So in all honesty, I wasnt aware that anything was removed/adjusted to make way for it :/
Right now as an adult who grew up loving this park, I see it this way: Every coaster, every ride, every well - anything, is what makes Great America, Great America. Everything plays a part no matter how big or small. With the reality of knowing everything cannot last forever, it is still upsetting to watch ANYTHING go. Many people only look at what puts us on the map or how great a ride is & if its not up to their prissy standards of greatness, it must not be worth while. & while things like putting us on a map ARE important to me, it cant & wont happen all the time. Ill explain - I want headlining attractions, yes. -BUT- I want them so we get noticed for being the great park I think we already are, I want that greatness to advance, to progress. For the tourism, & to be talked about, to be that go to park. I feel this new coaster can/may do that only two years following XFlight. But you cant be that go to park without offering something for everybody, for the entire family. Thats where we excel in comparison to many parks. We have a well rounded selection of coaster types, we have classic flats & coasters most of the world lost or are sadly losing as we speak. We offer a massive water park with a massive selection of amusements within itself. We have a great selection of flats, food/beverage etc etc!! Could any of these things be better? YES. Theres always room for improvement! but again, taking away something to add something is what kills me. I feel all of this would be much more efficient to explain in person. I just hate to see us lose something that the park seemed to work so hard for(especially from 2003-2011), to be family oriented while offering world class thrills.
Im gonna be known for my rants, I'm sorry. haha But for those of you who take the time to read them, thank you! ;D xx
To be honest, I used to hate Six Flag parks! When I decided to start working at GAm, I noticed how unique the park actually was...
My favorite park (and home park) is King's Island, and I have always been in love with the rides, atmosphere...just everything about that place. And, I feel the same way when I'm at GAm. You don't get that feeling when you're at parks like Cedar Point or places that are pretty much just concrete and steel. Everything just feels perfect at the park and I hate thinking that one day those rides are going to be gone, and replaced with something else. As I talked about earlier with James, I worry about Whizzer and Demon a lot when they start making plans for something new. Both, Arrow and Schwarzkopf are dying breeds; so the upkeep for these rides is insane. I know one day they will have no choice but to tear them down, but that's something that just has to happen. Those two rides help put us on the map at one time, but more things have came along and done the same thing....Ragin Cajun wasn't one of those things. Sure it's a good ride, but it's a carnival ride. I personally feel that GAm is making a good decision by getting rid of it and putting it at SFA. That park is slowly starting to get back on its feet, because before Wolf was moved there, it didn't have much going for it. Whatever goes in place of Cajun, we'll still end up enjoying it as much; if not more than Cajun!
i dont have a source but i could of sworn i read somewhere that RC's spoot will not be filled this year and was going to be left empty for a future attraction. I may be wrong as you can never trust what you read to its a official announcment
The park will always be looking to improve. Im all for removing rides when it needs to be done to lead to something better. RC isn't bad but it is pretty low on most rankings. Lets see what this leads to in the future of that spot.
Im not too worried about seeing a spot lay for a little while. Iron Wolf's spot was dormant for too long, but lets see what this new coaster looks like. And then ask yourself if they would have rushed to fill IW's spot would it have been as good as it is going to be. They will fill RC's spot eventually.
I really hope that when they take out RajUn Cajun that the whole Mardi gras theme doesn't just disappear. I love that area of the park and would have for it to lose its theming.
I feel as though RC is the main point of Mardi Gras... Even though this does not make me happy, I feel as though we are going to get something like a Zac Spin there... I feel like we will never ever make it out of the 13 rollercoaster slump.
I also feel like our themes are reallyyyy lack luster, I felt like that was one that actually had a really good theme, that one and Southwest Territory. The themes could really use some work.

Its hard to get out of the 13 coaster clump when you do not have the acreage some parks have. if they planned on having more big coasters they would need a plot of land to add another themed area i belive. What they have now fills the park up. I am sure you can fit another 1 or 2 in there but at what cost. Not a money cost but a congestion cost. As much as i would love to have 15 or 16 roller coasters.... (and yes i would love to see it) i just do not think there is the room to do that right now. You would have to be going over the midway or pathways and turning the park into a clutter. Maybe if the SWAP goes away they have room for something in that area. Honestly the park just isnt big enough considering the original walk paths and they way initial construction was done

This just in... 2015 is going to bring us... A. The Great American SkyScreamer B. Increased Admission Prices C. Increased Parking Prices D. More Gaping Holes ***Trip Reports May Vary***
I wish there was more room around the park too but I must say, I like the layout of the park overall. It's easier to access places and find attractions than a lot of theme parks where the pathways are just confusing. Of course, I've been to SFGAm a hundred time or so but I think it's easier for first timers to find their way around than most parks. Another good thing is that every pathway can be reachable by two different sides. Some parks have wings off their pathways and the only way to get back out to the main path is to go back the way you came.

There are 2 things I don't like about the park that they probably will never change because it's too late to change. One is that you can't just get to the other side so easily - from Orbit to Batman the Ride without walking around the entire park, and the other thing is that a lot of the midways are small, so it feels congested at times around the park.
