Wow, what a find! The entrance and station look very good, but I'm concerned about to things. A. I hope the watch tower isn't red like in that picture. It just looks real bad. B. The building element on the drop doesn't seem to fit real well. On Swarm the airplane wing works perfectly because of the apocalyptic theme, but some random structure for a jet/stealth bomber themed ride? The hangar, watch tower, and water element were enough for me.

Sorry for all the negative. Again, for everything else, I would not expect less from Six Flags for having us wait 9 seasons for another major coaster. This picture brought out some much both positive and negative. But, truly great find. Can't wait

For the drop thing I think it would be cool if somehow they could like make it out of the bombs that the stealths and jets drop, or if somehow they could incorporate it with that.

In the last week, Six Flags Great America began erecting X-Flight, a new wing roller coaster to open this spring at Great America. The Village's Building Division will be working closely with Great America to ensure that the ride is safe and compliant with the Village's code. The anticipated open date for X-Flight is Memorial Day weekend. As you may know, wing roller coasters are a new type of roller coaster where guests ride alongside the track and not above or below it. X-Flight will be the second such coaster in North America and only one of six in the world. The photo to the right is a rendering from a virtual tour courtesy of Six Flags. village of gurnee.com :)

The yellow things just indicate what angle the cars will be at during those parts of the ride I believe. I wonder what's at the bottom of the drop. I'm sure they will add fog or something at the bottom of the first drop but there is some structure there.

The Yellow is actually the safety envelope for the train at that particular point in the ride.

^ Not sure what the maximum height limits are for the other Wing Coasters, but X-Flight's height requirement is between 54 inches and 78 inches (78 inches is 6 feet, 6 inches).

Both Furis Baco and X2 are Intamins though and the article says 1 of 6 wing coasters meaning they're built by B&m. Again I only know of four.

That's what I was thinking. They are just indicating where the cars will be at close encounter points.

They might mean X-Flight, Raptor, Wild Eagle, The Swarm, Furius Baco, and Skyrush. That was just a guess though and I'm probably wrong.

Is it just me or is everything in that video sped up a bit?

Also, here's another Swarm video that wasn't posted.

Definitely minimum clearance indicators. Pretty wild to see how close it will be from the sides. They also factor in people sticking out their arms/legs/etc.

The tracking on the ride is just about complete, but it's kind of at a bad angle right now. I'd like to see more of the station's construction, but now you can really just see the brake run.

I'd much rather have them keep the camera as is until the track is finished. Track work is much more interesting to watch than the station.
