Can someone tell me, why RCDB says that Dark Knight Coaster costs 7,500,000 to build at Great America and 1 other park, but the 3rd park it only costs 7,000,000!!
The specs and all are all the same, so what makes it cheaper?
What I meant was that we have a park that costs $7,500,000, and so does another park. So, if what tp41190 said is correct, than another park would have to have Theatre Royale. So, that's why I said if that were the case, then another park would be doing the same thing. In other words, that must not be the reason for the price difference.
Sorry folks, but I am excited about this Indoor Coaster. I love Batman the everything. The movies are OK to great. Think B&R--->Batman the Movie. Batman: The Beginning = Great. BtR is an awesome ride, sweetly themed. My only quandry for next year is... Do I see the movie first? Or ride the ride first? lol.
Also change can be a good thing. Yeah we won't see TR next year, but we'll see a really cool entrance to a hopefully great ride experience. And don't forget, this is SFGAm's FIRST ever dark ride!!!!

What I meant was that mabe us and Great Adventure have to remodel a building or build a new one. Theater Royale isnt the only building in the park. And I know that SFGAdv has a building somewhere in the park for a coaster.
And, because SFGAm and SFGAdv are the two most money making parks that are getting TDK, maybe more will be put into it.

Layout = Mack Compact Mouse (Same as the Wild Mouse at Hersheypark)
Exact location = Theater Royale. I would guess that it will be on the Superman side of the theater. I'm basing that assumption on the fact that the large storage containers that have been by Superman's first drop (behind the wall) since 2004 were moved up near Superman's station a couple weeks before the season ended.
Construction Updates = The ride will barely by visible at all from off SF property. I wouldn't expect any updates until the private events in April (unless SFGAm actually provides official updates)
So the ride will look like the Hersheypark wild mouse. I looked it up on RCDB and it looks pretty decent. The fact that it's enclosed will make it better.
I'm guessing that seeing as the ride/movie are almost parallel to each other, the same basic look will be applied to both versions of the Joker. I don't know if Heath Ledger is going to film scenes for the ride, it's probably unlikely. And who knows there might be a character portraying the Joker as we finally catch him at the end of the ride.
Anyways just wanted to whet the appetites a lil more in this offseason getting ready for 2-0-0-8

Well rumor (I stress rumor) has it that the staton is to be set like the Gotham City Subway station! That better look realistic!!! And this so called pre-show / set-up better be out of this world! Either way, I'm sure I will ride it numerous times. And I really can't wait all winter...I MISS THE BULL!
^I think there's your answer right there: Pre-Show! Making a movie/remodelling a space to house a pre-show could be something the company might not want to do at Six Flags New England. The extra costs for ours and Great Adventure could be that we actually get a remodelled line/pre-show.
I've also learned in my architecture classes that different regions specialize in different forms of construction. I know in the Boston region, my teacher mentioned specifically, that their way of building buildings out there is quite different from here. So construction costs could be very different between parks (but usually not enough to make that drastic of a price difference).
The final and most plausible theory is the fact that rcdb.com mistyped the cost of the one park
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Do we actually know there is going to be a pre-show?
Let's think about the facts here.
We know that the queue is replacing theatre royale with the ride probably as an addendum to the building. Chances are it will exit through heroes...because that would be smart marketing...Did the release or anything else actually say there would be a pre-show? like a video or like a themed station? because wedo know it will be a subway station...but beyond that..we really don't know that much about this ride. Let's be smart and keep this in the news six flags!
Captain, don't shake the passengers up too much this time! Just giving them their money's worth!
Yes but there's dark rides and then there's six flags Dark Rides. I've been on the two ghostblasters, in Texas and St. Louis and they were great rides, but no pre-show...So is this something we're assuming. I know no one with actual information will come forward...but if anyone has heard rumblings?

If I were Six Flags, I would have two pre-show rooms, not one. That way it could be staggered, and avoid the problem of having a long wait, followed by moving quickly, then another long wait. Something that plauges rides like Viper and Deja Vu where guests are grouped. If there were two pre-show rooms they could be staggered and that problem would be minimal.
Makes me wish Six Flags, as a corporation, had common sense.
