Is splashwater Falls being removed??

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby sfgam1992 on August 31st, 2007, 4:01 pm
From screamscape:
Rumor - (8/31/07) Screamscape sources tell us that they spotted several new survey markings just added to the park, not far from Superman. This is curious too since all other rumors pointed to the removal of the Splashwater Falls, so I’ve got to wonder if there are perhaps two projects in the works now. If anyone is heading out to the park this weekend, take a look for signs around the Superman area (inside and outside the park), take some photos and report back. Meanwhile another source has come forward to say that the new project seems to be some kind of new family sized coaster. Problem is, the park already has a spinning mouse style coaster so they really don’t need a Tony Hawk clone, so I’m not sure what this may be then. Of course our source was quick to point out that the clock is ticking once again for the Whizzer, and adding a big new family friendly coaster in 2008 may be a step towards the eventual removal of the Whizzer in the years to come.

The tension is building and a Euro fighter would be great.

^DejaVu has bad capacity too, but it's still an awesome ride that I don't mind waiting a couple hours for (I can't believe I just said that, but it's true). I've heard Euro Fighters are awesome, and they certainly look so.

As far as I remember, when they first marketed Deja Vu, they said capacity was around 1,000.

Now hourly's are like what, 750?

Here's a thought..........
Going out on a limb here but what's to say they wouldnt give us too coasters being were a major park in the chain! They did with Deja Vu & Vertical Velocity, why couldnt they do it again! One family coaster and one huge coaster! Once again I'm going out on a limb!

Here's hoping it turns out to be something like Maverick!

Here's going out on a real imb...what if the STATION was by Superman, but part of the coaster extended into county fair, so instead of two coasters a freaking HUGE coaster!? I highly doubt it but it would be awesome.

If they do get a new coaster thats under 125 ft. do they need to have a village meeting? If not they can just get a building permit without anyone knowing. If it is a small coaster they don't need that much time to put it up and they would probably anounce it at no coaster con in January. I'm still not convinced we have no chance of getting one.

Here are some areas that may fit a new coaster.

The way I see it is we have to get rid of a water ride or the go karts.

I think that we might get a flat(s) in SWF, and a coaster by Superman. There is plenty of room over there and it can extend out of the park on the hill Shockwave used to be on. They already spotted markers by Superman, so that might be the "big" project for 08.

...Im still hoping for "tumble weed"

What do you think the chances are of maybe putting a chairlift type ride? That would be something that doesnt take too much space and would utilize both locations. Just and idea, I hope its not, cause I would love a nice new coaster.
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.

^That would be the best thing that could happen the park. I've wanted one of those so badly!

And lets remember that this is still SFI we are talking about. This will NOT be a large coaster, and I still doubt we are getting a coaster in the first place.

Okay, this makes zero sense, Think about this for a second...

How could any coaster extend from Superman all the way to SWF?

That makes no sense at all
