Superman: Ultimate Flight

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Gangsta Fruit 26, I'm not trying to be overcritical of your opinions, but while you don't want the Whizzer anymore, there are plenty of kids younger than you that do want to ride it. The money is with the families, and any business wants money. Six Flags is a business. Six Flags wants money. Hence, Shockwave's fate and Whizzer's survival.

I am with SFGAm Shock Wave on this one. You can easily take down a flume that isn't open much as it is, and replace it a new coaster. Or, better yet, put it behind Picnic Grove and use up some of the employee lot. That would make the most sense.

Yankee Clipper (IMS) won't be taken down. On the days I went and it was open, it always had a full quene.

Both flumes are very popular when they're open.

Loggers is more popular than IMS (or it's just open more :) ), and the drop is more unique. Plus, it gives you more of a splash.

Theres way too many possibilities with what rides or coasters that can be taken out. I cant wait to see what sfgam does when its time for a new coaster.

Gangsta Fruit 26 wrote:Why does everyone think that it was better to have Shockwave removed instead of Whizzer. Whizzer is an ok ride but it is not as good, thrilling, intense, fast, tall as shockwave. It wasn't as fun to ride. It doesn't matter if it was your first ride, what about now. Now they are going to remove Whizzer sooner or later no matter what and it is going to be pretty soon. And when they do remove it what could they put there. A B&M Floorless would not fit, well maybe it could I'm really not sure but I think if it could fit it would probably be kind of small. This is why i'm mad. This is what we could have maybe in the future.

SUF in Whizzer's spot.
A very large B&M Floorless in Shockwave's spot.

Instead we have
Whizzer (which is boring)
SUF

This pisses me of like so much.

dont be dumb... because Whizzer is a great family coaster and a big one at that, it still thrills people and everyone can ride it. Not everyone could ride shockwave

Gangsta Fruit needs a lover with 'em on Whizzer.

Opinions change quickly my friend.

EDIT:
FRD714 wrote:^ I never even went on shockwave. I dont care if its whizzer or iron wolf, I JUST WANT A FLOORLESS!

Ehhh....lets just say Whizzer is more intense than any 'ol floorless.
Why does everyone always miss the obvious? No coasters have to be removed for SFGAm to get a new coaster. Just take out a flume, we don't need 2 right next to each other.

2 Questions:
For Shock Wave Haters:
Did you ever ride Shock Wave in the back row?

For Whizzer Haters:
Have you ever ridden Whizzer with your significant other? :)
I am a Shockwave hater and yes i have been in back row. That row is the row that gave me a concussion. Therefore, not a fan.

Just for everyone's information, i am 19 years old and still would place Whizzer up in my top 5 in the park. Sometimes i like it more than Vu and Viper, so i don't know what everyone hates about it. I am now reitterating the fact that Whizzer is the most underrated ride in the park.

^ I like Whizzer in the same way, but its good alone too. Just a lot more fun sitting in a guy's lap... especially if they're holding you. Or if the guy is in your lap, I don't know if I have done that yet (at least not on Whizzer, but on a different coaster) but it's just as good.

I took somebody's advice from these forums once, and decided to look down instead of up at the track on SUF sometime over the summer, and have been doing it ever since. Way more fun if you look down, gives you more of a flying feeling.

Well, I couldn't find an official Shockwave topic, but anyways:

They ought to have played Green Day's "Give Me Novacaine" in the queue (or exit) of Shockwave.

I don't get what's so special about a floorless coaster. I'd rather see a new innovative coaster than a floorless anyday.

I'm not sure if I completely agree with you, playerplex. For one, any ride with the tag "new and innovative" also has the tag "plagued with downtime". If you think about it, the last 3 major roller coasters SFGAm has gotten, Deja Vu, V2, and Superman, none of the three, especially Deja Vu, have had very small amounts of downtime. I think the best route SFGAm could choose would be to put in a nice, people-moving, reliable coaster, and a floorless fits that mold completely.

Hmm, I swing both ways on Whizzer, girl in my lap or me in a girls lap. As Dan can tell you

Whizzer is great, and rct2 is right, it's way more intense than a floorless

^It might have to do with the seating. Whizzer has very strong, banked turns with very little holding you in the car. Floorlesses on the other hand, although flipping you upside down, buckle you in with a shoulder harness and a seat belt connecting the harness to the seat. Whizzer is a little more free.

Thats what I was thinking. Thats why I like Space mountain at WDW. Just a little bar and you get lots of airtime. Plus I like how you sit down.
