Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I don't think an official cost was ever released for the ride, but 12-15 million probably isn't that far off for a B&M of this size.

I found this today with two pictures I haven't seen yet. One is in the center of the page, and another is a thumbnail down by where it says "Previous Page"

In the first paragraph of this article, it states that X-flight will be ready for opening day, May 5th, not May12th as some previous reports had stated.

Also, notice that he said "water elements". I'm pretty sure the water jets are happening.

Quote of Hank Salemi from that article:
"you're going to flying through things, water elements, a flight tower"
Top 3 Steel Coasters: 1. The Incredible Hulk 2. Maverick 3. Dragon Challenge (Fireball)

Top 3 Wood Coasters: 1. The Beast 2. American Eagle (Red) 3. Hades

Head over to the official X-Flight Facebook Page on Facebook. Search X-Flight Roller Coaster in the search bar. There are multiple pages, but the first one (with 296 likes) is the only most up-to-date, exclusive page for X-Flight info. X-flight will open on May 5th and head over TO see a NEVER before seen ground level photo of X*Flight. This is a brand new photo that has never been posted ANYWHERE before but on the X-Flight page! Check out the page and tell your friends as well. The photo is in the X-Flight Construction album!

There was a third picture not in the article. I'll post it next time I'm at the computer if no one else does it first.

I can't post that exclusive photo because I'm on my phone. I must say, that is my favorite photo of them all! It shows the turn around before the keyhole, the immelmann, and the station work in the back.

Looking at those pics form that article I started to think...are they gonna plant alllllll those trees that are featured in the concept art?

Also...the pipe dream of opening day should be dropped. Read the first paragraph of the article:
Six Flags Great America is building a new coaster. “X-Flight” will be unique to the world of thrill rides, unlike any other coaster out there, says Hank Salemi, Great America park president. The coaster will open in mid-May, shortly after the park opens on May 5.

Even if the ride was ready (at it will be on opening Day I'm sure) they would still wait for the Xtreme Pass ERT just as a big selling point for the passes.

Marketing people are all coy and crap. I was married to one ;)

While im looking at the webcam I was wondering how will they make the station? Like one end looks like the boarding and the other end looks like exit but how will people get on the other side will the line split in 2 or what. Well I guess we will have to wait and see.

The line splits in two past the control tower right before the station. One path goes to the left side and the other to the right side. The exit will be on both sides but will merge into one path which will lead to X-Gear.

^ If you read the entire discussion, you would know that the article was revised at 9:35 this morning. At the time GrtAmkid posted, the article still said the ride would open on May 5th.

Original wording:
The coaster will open with the park on May 5, the first day of the season.

New wording:
The coaster will open in mid-May, shortly after the park opens on May 5.

Sickest picture ever! Definitely my favorite pic so far. For some reason this pic kinda smacked me in the face and I remembered this was a B&M. From that angle it looks amazing.

They are sticking in the next track piece on the brakes which might be the last before the turn into the final run.

^ That is the final brake section. There are now three track pieces and 1 or 2 supports left to assemble for the turnaround.

EDIT: That track piece has been removed :o
