I like Batman yellow color scheme V2 to Mr. Freeze with the blue would be nice. It would all fit with the Joker addition with a theme. Then in the future add a Catwoman named flat ride in that region like an Endeavor, Skyscreamer, or Giant Discovery or Revolution. Have a complete Batman based theme area.
Does anyone think ERC is getting renamed with it's move to Orbit spot?
Instead of making a new thread and getting it locked, why not just continue the current discussion into 2018?
Currently, my 2 main thoughts are either A) A Flat pack(Giant Discovery, Endeavour, SkyScreamer, etc.), or B) A Hurricane Harbor expansion, specifically a ProSlide Water Coaster. I honestly see option B being more likely, seeing that Riptide Bay is going to be 6 years old next year(damn, time flies). Still, the announcement is a year away, anything can happen.
^I actually think there's quite a few other places that could be used for one;
-Viper area. It's been said before that we could fit a water coaster around Viper. However, due to the fairly large Employee area between Viper and HH, it makes me doubt this area the most.
-Pictorium. Like you said, Pictorium could be a prime location for one- not only being in a forest-y area, but also having a bit of terrain to work with. However, I think the space could be combined with the area behind Whizzer to make way for a decently sized coaster(Chance Hyper GT-X?).
-Area between Tornado and Riptide Bay. If you look on Google Maps, you can see that aside from the Flow Rider, there isn't really anything in the area. There are plenty of open areas that could be used for station, queue, footers, etc. Not 100% sure on the specs, but I think one could fit if they tried.
-Beach Stage Area. This area is mostly open concrete paths connecting the Lazy River/Restaurant area to Skull Island. Putting a water coaster in this area could really fill in both the slide gap, and the space gap. Also, the sand just gets annoying and obnoxious to others, especially on slides. if there's a kid in front of you who is full of sand, you'll probably be getting some too. Not fun at all.
Just a few ideas that are out there. There's loads more, but that's all I can think of atm.

The type of water coaster Six Flags just purchased for Fiesta Texas takes up a lot of space. I think we would have to build it where the Pictorium is or in the parking lot. Here is video of the one in Spain that gives a better idea of the size of the ride. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4Iou4Grp938
That looks fun. I'd actually go to HH if we got that. And if we did, I would think it'd be cool to go through the whizzer swamp.
I thought this topic would be locked. The FT addition looks great, I don't understand the "bowls" though. Why not just make it an open tube?
Has anyone here been on Wildebeest or Mammoth? Those are two INSANE proslide creations. I would love s proslide water coaster after experiencing those. Though last month I did just go to Kentucky Kingdom & while Deluge was a much more simple water coaster, it was still very fun. So I wouldn't mind any water coaster. As I said in the other forum, I really think this will be our 2018 addition. A water coaster. Though a Divertical would be kick ass too....
I feel bad for the parks that havent gotten anything for the past several years, but we should be getting big additions because ours is (said by many enthusiasts) the 3rd best sixflags park. What's your top 3 parks?
I've been on 3 water coasters (all at the dells). Black anaconda at Noah's ark, master blaster at Kalahari and this Mayan one at chula vista, i havent been one one similar to the one going to fiesta Texas. I personally thought that the one at chula vista was best (minus the conveyor belt noises lol) but the water coasters weren't my favorite when I went. At Noah's ark, anaconda was 3, followed by point of no return and scorpions tail, I liked the capsule slides at Kalahari more than master blaster, but master blaster was 2 best, and I liked python plunge more than the water coaster at chula vista, but the Mayan coaster was 2 at chula vista. So if sfgam got one, I think I would like the capsule slides more than the coaster

Hopefully A occurs..3 good flat rides. They can take out Revolution and put Skyscreamer in it's spot. Endeavor could in SW Territory with western name or near Joker/Batman call it Catwoman Whip. Giant Discovery or Discovery Revolution in spot of Pictorium.

1)MM 2)GAdv 3) Close between several but probably OT, They get a boost in my opinion b/c of solid flat rides with a 400ft Skyscreamer, Zamperla Discovery, Endeavor. OG has a solid coaster line up so they are in the mix.

This is not related to the 2017 Rumors thread. Please create a new one in the off topic section.
Looking at 2017 both SF and Cedar Fair they are extreme;y light on big coasters. Cedar Fair is doing 1 new wood coaster at Kings Island and a conversion of standup to a floorless at CA Great America. There is still the rumor the reason RMC has no announced projects is that they are doing a revamping Mean Streak at CP with a rename. That's such a bog project they only could only handle 1 project. Hopefully this is just yr off, not a trend and 2018 will be a big yr for new coasters.
staticshadows wrote:Cedar Fair dumped most of their money into hotel projects and the new Kings Island coaster. Six Flags spread the money out evenly if my price estimates are correct. JL's are outrageous costs and people aren't running to a park for JL's. You can build a coaster for the same 14M a JL 3.0 costs. Skyscreamers are also a bit pricey for what they are. 2017 is so blah on new rides..Hopefully the Mean Streak RMC rumor at Cedar Point is true. Tat would be exciting to see what RMC could do with Mean Streak.
^Actually, people do. It's the reason Universal is so popular. And this ride is Universal Standards in the eyes of most GP.
In the GP's eyes, this is a great year. We only think it's a disappointment because we know it's a bunch of cookie cutter rides. But they're good cookie cutters, unlike some previous additions.
^Agree 100%! This is a great year and just because some of us are unhappy with the selections doesn't mean the GP is going to be. I can't tell you how many people I talk with that know I'm at six flags like twice a week come up to me and tell me how amazing Justice League is. The GP loves it and it was a great investment and addition. Now with the 4D coming they will go nuts over it. I truly believe we are so lucky to live this close to an amazing park with such a well rounded selection of not only roller coasters but flats as well. Sure we could use some more but am I complain constantly about it? Then again I've been going to this park since I can remember and basically grew up there so I'm bias.

Coaster Force suggests that RMC has several projects for 2018

Redundancy or "cookie cutter" rides are okay for flat rides. There are some classes of rides all parks should have like a swing ride, pendulum ride, spin ride(spinsanity/fiddlers fling, etc... In fact I wish they would put some more Endeavors or even start adding Hawks or the Revolution model of Discovery, for variation. However, I don't think what are being considered or promoted as "marquee rides" should be so redundant across parks. JL's and 4D's are marquee for SF. 7 of 13 parks will Jl's and 5 of 13 4D's. If they are intent on putting 4D's in all parks have some variety with design. Make some the bigger model ,see if S&S will create another design make another one Intamin besides the one at MM. If they are intent on putting dark rides in all parks show some variety of theme besides JL Battle for Metropolis. Make some Battle for Gotham City, etc...
