I also enjoy IW very much, but it is nowhere near as smooth as the Hulk at USF. And what exactly is the theme of Chang and how is it incorporated into the ride. The ride itself was a decent standup, nothing special and this type of coaster has found little love with the coaster riding public, and i cant think of the last one built. I cant think of any park that has 2 standup style coasters operating at the same time.
First time for everything but again these aren't very popular types of rides so
A) Chang stays the same; Iron Wolf leaves 2011/2012 B) Chang converted; trains go to Wolf
I think it may be possible Iron Wolf might still have a shot at being sent to another park in the chain and revamped there. It is a important coaster like it or not. With some work and new paint it could be a hit somehwere else.

So the way I get it is the lift hill piece, the track, train (s), and support pole (s) are all in different areas of the park? Why keep some of it in full view? And which side of AE is it visible?
It is possible to convert a standup coaster to a floorless as the heartline is almost the same because floorless trains seats are elevated.
Think about just a standup coaster where you have 6ft 3 in Johnny right next to 4ft 6 in Billy. Think about how far off both of their heartlines are in a standup position.
So to the people saying a conversion can't be done, give it a rest, because it can.

funny part about that is Billy is going to have an awesome ride, while picking up some new and colorful language as a result of the ride that Johnny is getting who's head is not clear of the OTSR's

You can see it from either side if you turn around on the lift, it's kind of hard to miss if you just turn around.

No, no, no, you have it mixed up. Little Billy will be screaming profanities while Johnny comes out unscathed.

Kind of curious how you are comparing the smoothness of IW to Hulk since they are different style coasters. You should of just said RB is smoother since it's in the same park.
No, I don't believe any park in the world has 2 standups but as they say, there is a first for everything. SFGAm was the only park for awhile that had 2 Arrow loopers and now with Shapiro trying to save money and relocate coasters, it won't suprise me if Chang stays a standup. Heck, look at LeRonde in Canada. They will now have 2 full circuit inverted coasters.

Chitown, I thought some here had compared IW to Hulk, that is why I made my comment. Must have been somewhere else, or i just screwed up ,because otherwise it makes no sense to compare the rides.
^No, TP definitely compared them in this topic. And I think its actually pretty close between the two rides. Hulk is just shakey the entire circuit, while Iron Wolf has small areas in the ride that can just be brutal depending where you sit and what train you are on. I've had absolutely smooth rides on IW though, and when you ride that thing front row at night it can be one of the best rides in the park.
Just saying, it can be a really fun ride.

I agree that IW can give yo a excellent ride, but the problem for the park is that it isnt as popular as it once was, I know from my own family that no one else(and these are coaster lovers) will ride it anymore because they complain it is painful.
And while I think Chang would be very busy once it opens, in no time it will also lose alot of its business due to the ride not being as smooth as rides like Batman/RB.
Chang is going to be the first major addition in over 5 years. It will be huge especially if it is converted and properly themed. It will be in front of the park which will make everyone coming in want to ride it. The most popular rides are primarily in the front section of the park (Bull, Superman, Giant Drop, Viper). Eagle and Wolf are all the way in the back or hidden completely.
You can also view the track from Giant Drop. Yeah, I saw it loads of times today. I also saw some navy blue stuff next to the track, like they could've been supports or something. Can anyone confirm this?
The Navy Blue "stuff" is most likely the station, or pieces of. The supports have more of a faded blue color, due to the paint fading. Chang has never been able to hold a good paint, huh?
