I would say there might still be decent waits if this is the only time you are able to go and you want to hit every coaster then my advice is that you splurge and get a flash pass reg is 50 gold i think is some where between 65 and 75 and platinum is 115 but with platinum you get to ride twice which may be beneficial. use your judgement head towards superman and see what it looks like if you deem it waitable you should be ok. Some of the House lines were longer than others and some were like 5 10 minute waits. I think a lot of people are getting pissed off at the prices they are charging and arent bothering.
^ The bush people this year do exist, but not in Necropolis. The trees and bushes where they are normally located have been cleared and it is one giant open space. If you happen to go into one of the haunted houses, you will find them. I don't feel like saying which one, though...
Time fo my FF review. Biggest Fright Fest ever? Probably not just a hype tactic. It was anything but. Everything is all jumbled together again, so you can plan I have included opening times. Houses are ok not great scroll down for more. Heres a list of show times:
LOVE AT FIRST FRIGHT: Very good as usual the culture stuff this year was hilarious. But had a season pass holder only show at 2 which was bogus and should have been open to everyone. SEASON PASS HOLDER LINE BACKS UP ALL THE WAY TO TRUDYS SWEET SHOP. Thursdays 7:00 and 8:45 Fridays 6:45 8:00 and 9:15 Saturdays 2:00 3:45 5:30 7:15 9:00 Sundays 1:45 3:30 5:15 and 7:00 Columbus day 1:30 and 4:00
DEAD MAN'S PARTY: Sounded good didn't stay for whole show also in a much bigger OUTDOOR venue. Fridays 7:00 8:15 9:15 Saturdays 4:00 5:45 7:00 8:15 9:30 Sundays 4:00 5:45 7:15 Not available Columbus Day

No One Cares about Scary-oke self explanitory.
THE UPRISING PARADE: VERY GOOD Gypsy fortune teller had big part in it. Saturdays and Sundays 4:00 Be advised this is when the freaks come out to play be warned especially if you have chiildren.
FULL MOON ROCKSPLOSION CLOSING PARADE: Didnt get to see it Cancelled on account of rain. Fridays and Saturdays 10:30 Sundays 8:30 Not available Thursdays or Columbus Day
Character Candy Trail: Didn't get to see. Saturdays Sundays and Columbus Day 11:00-2:00 Not available Thursdays and Friday
HAUNTED HOUSES THE ABYSS: It was ok not spectacular it could have been so much more just like a mishmash of stuff they wanted to use but didn't know where to put it. Thursdays 6:30 Fridays 6:00 Saturdays and Sundays 4:30 Colmbus Day 2:30
TOTAL DARKNESS: LAME AND SMALL walked through not many actors in it, not totally dark. Thursdays 6:30 Fridays 6:15 Saturdays and Sundays 4:45 Columbus Day 2:30
MAUSOLEUM OF TERROR: Thought it was going to be so much more did get spooked by one guy, if your easily scared you ought to have a good time in this one but again seemed very short tough not as short as Total Darkness. Thrusdays: 6:30 Fridays 6:00 Saturdays and Sundays 4:00 Columbus Day 2:30
MASSACRE MEDICAL CENTER: I thought this was the best one of the night. It seemed like they really put all of their effort into this one. Thursday 6:15 Friday 6:00 Saturday and Sunday 3:00 Columbus Day 2:00
MANSLAUGHTER MANOR: Weaker than last year, last year This was the best and this year it kind of fell flat, just didn't have the right oomph, it was just there. Thursday 6:15 Friday 6:00 Saturday Sunday and Columbus Day 2:00
WICKED WOODS: Better than last year but really needed more people this was actually darker than Total Darkness especially when you got to the cave self guided this year no "tour guides". Thursday 6:15 Friday 6:30 Saturday and Sunday 6:00 Not available Columbus Day.
BERMUDA TIANGLE: decent concept could have been taken further actors didnt really scare seemed like they leered more than anything else. Also theres no place to buy food take this into consideration if headed there. Thursday anf Friday 6,:00 Saturday and Sunday 3:30 Columbus Day 2:00
NECROPOLIS: definately better at night scare actors were more concentated to the end of the walkthrough didnt really start until you hit the picnic grove. Thursday and Friday 6:00 Saturday and Sunday 3:30 Columbus Day 2:00
PURGATORY PLAZA: no witch or death this year but pumpkin head, mummy and gypsy fortune teller
SEVEN SINS CEMETERY: LAME there were no seven sins each tomb of sin was completely void of anything eferencing a sin.
LAST STOP BURN EM AND BURIED CIRCUS: Ok terrifying if you hate clowns but nothing spectacular.
PORT DREAD: Scare actors concentated across from whirligig didnt move around too much. also East River Kraken opened late for some reason and didnt run until about 8:30 9:00
DEADWOOD GOVE: LAME 3 lumberjacks stayed mostly by go karts.
GRIM HOLLOW: most themeing and scare actors in the park this was easily the best zone.
THE HELLMOUTH: Didnt walkthrough seemed to just be area where BB's guns are.
SKULL VALLEY: Good amount of actors but again they stayed concentated by the sports bar and smoking area not much themeing at all.
SECTOR 7: LAME just had ordinarily dressed construction workers walking around, they seemes to move more but were moe concentrated by Trudy's. Without the military and aliens the Sector 7 themeing doesn't fit. with the actors they had they could have called it Disaster.
Overall it was good but not as good as 2005 and 2006. Houses could have been better. Still need more fog Could have been more actors that got into it more. I was just happy the rain didnt come until late especially since this was my first and only trip to the park this year. I hope you all have Devilishly good times if you go.

Is that because those bushes are cleared for Goliath and any updates on Goliath?
If you don't want to read, here's my short review: Meh
If you do, here's my long review.
Overall, I was kinda disappointed with what I saw today. In my opinion, the park keeps biting off more than they can chew with FF and we end up with quantity over quality. They need to stop changing things that don't need to be changed, it's just taking away time and money that could be put to much better use. Some things just look bad and don't match the quality of what else is in the park.
The Good: - Terror Twister (obviously) - LAFF, great show this year, the best of the past few years - Medical, Manslaughter and Wicked Woods were all improved from last year - The new Uprising parade and show - Necropolis although smaller looks better - Hellmouth, Purgatory Plaza, Grim Hollow, Circus - I liked that the candy trail is in Wicked Woods since it gave us a chance to look over the sets more carefully - Ride graveyard, this year they added the tombstones of past park employees - Moving DMP to HH - The scare-actors were all pretty good - The costumes and make up look great. I'm so happy we don't rely on masks like some other parks do.
The OK: - Total Darkness which apparently is themed to phobias but you can't see anything so.. - Bermuda Triangle, they need something to keep you back there if you aren't doing the houses - Deadwood Grove, I'm so happy we finally have chainsaws, but the location sucks and it needs more actors - Port Dread, needs more actors - Mausoleum of Terror, no actors for the first half and was better last year
The Bad: - The Abyss. Doesn't make any sense and it looks terrible compared to MMC and MSM. - Skull Valley, it's just not a good location for a scare zone. Move it to the dead space outside the amphitheater and it would be 100x better - Seven Sins Cemetary, not sure why they brought the name back as it hasn't been themed to the seven sins for years. The costumes are ok but don't match the voodoo theme as well as last years, and the tombs didn't look as good - Sector 7. The costumes are dumb and not at all scary and it was a huge missed opportunity to not utilize the Ignite stage at all. They didn't even need new content, they could have just played the burning Chicago scene on a loop! - Theming in general is not nearly as good as last year - Very little atmosphere. - They do a terrible job scheduling breaks. When I walked into the circus area, there were two actors out. There should not be four actors from one area on a break at the same time. Hellmouth also had half it's actors missing when I walked through - They open the haunts understaffed. We went through Abyss twice in a row and the second time had twice as many actors, so if you go through a haunt at opening you will get an inferior product
I didn't get to ride all of the rethemed rides or see the nighttime parade, so hopefully those will help boost my feelings up. I really think they need to take a year off and don't add anything new. Instead, use that money to bring everything up to the same quality. 2011 and 2012 were huge steps in the right direction but this year was just a smaller step. The park has proven that they can do better than this and I'm really hoping to see some improvement next week.

It was a typical fright fest for me. The only haunted house I enjoyed was MOT, as usual. Nothing was a dissapointment, because I knew what to expect (haunted houses that would only scare 14 year old girls.) Overall it was a good warm up for he upcoming haunted house season, which I am very excited about. By the way, if you do go, I would highly recommend spending the extra ten dollars for the slash pass, but by it online to avoid the processing fee.
"Everyone, listen to me! These jerks killed Superboy. They've tried to kill us. Now they say they're going to tear this city apart. I say... like hell."
Sector 7 is now construction workers? I do not approve. 0 Flags. The downgrade in characters combined with the reduction in scenery due to igNight has taken the best area in the park and turned it into crap.
Was anyone else confused with the recording in line for total blackout. Everyone thought that it was inside of that haunted house but it wasnt, actually it wasnt in any of them. Was it fake?
^ Those were nature show recordings, and one of the phobias you encounter in the house is spiders. The house was just confusing in general because without seeing anything I had no idea what I was supposed to be experiencing. I know there were clowns and spiders but all of the other phobias just blurred together. They should have just stuck to the darkness theme.
Are there a lot of seats for Dead Man's Party, or do a lot of people have to stand up during the show?
Just to mention, Triple Play this year is actually open on Fridays again from 5-9pm rather than not being open at all!
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I was at Fright Fest last night and Giant Drop now has random drop sequences, anyone else notice that? It is a pretty cool twist for a ride that was otherwise easy to predict when the drop would happen. Sometimes they would drop together, other times one at a time, and some times 2/3 at a time would go. Just wondering if this is long term?
^ Not sure when it started, but it's been running like that for Fright Fest for a while now. It'll go back to the normal program for the regular season.
On top of all of this is easily one of the best changes they made - they brought back ALL the old theme music! All the Halloween theme songs and various other themes play throughout the park! It was like classic Fright Fest to me, the background music they had been playing the last couple years, even though eerie and creepy at times never set the tone for the night than hearing the Halloween Theme as you enter the gates.
Nice, great to hear. I've not yet made it out to the park this season- thinking about doing so on one of the remaining Fridays on the schedule.
Iron Wolf 90-11 wrote:At the park now, they now have the seven sins on all seven of the mausoleums in seven sins cemetery.
I really don't understand their thought process with Sevens Sins. First in 2010 they covered all the sins (just with some twine) and brought in Voodoo characters. Then in 2011 they redid all the tombs to remove the sins and added references to voodoo bringing one united theme to the area. Now this year the tombs are the sins again, Rue Le Dodge still has the voodoo theme, and the characters are just Orleans type zombies. It's like they had three ideas for the area but couldn't decide on one so they did them all.
On a positive note - I had a much better experience this weekend then I did last weekend. They've added some more decorations, atmosphere was much better and the actors were still doing great.
