New Ride(s) for 2014

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

That coaster looks bigger from the whole view:

I wouldn't count on something like this landing here, but a better example may be Daemonen at Tivoli Gardens:

Do not forget about the existing station with seven rows per four seats. :D

Yes it is... Lets be honest here! Notice how I said me instead of we or us because I do not plan on sharing my Maverick. I don't share.

I think they could easily add two family coasters that adults would like too in the old IW area a 70 ft custom minetrain coaster with lots of airtime hills and a motorbike launch coaster custom themed to a cartoon network or looney tunes character. The coasters are not that big and cost less than one b&M coaster. Although if they do wanna add a giga in the old IW spot they could just move the train station and funnel cake place to kidzopolis. But im pretty sure we wont see anything built in that area for a while sf should start putting banners in july and clues to what were getting in 2014 not just in facebook but inside the park to.

^No, No, No. Floorlesses are a thing of the past. There are too many new ideas and concepts out there.

No, I mean like a taller multi inversion ride like that. Not exactly floorless

Just because something is a "thing of the past" doesn't make it a bad concept. Floorless may be a bad example (Just haven't been on one I've loved) but most of my favorite B&Ms are from their "old" models that you never see made anymore. Kumba, Hulk, just about any Invert (although those are still built often) the list goes on.

This would be sick to have at SFGA, not to mention it would be nice to have a Vekoma back in our park.

^^I agree that a floorless is not a bad concept. However today there are plenty of manufacturers making sitdown coasters. And many of these are lap bar and 48" ride height.
The other thing is, B&M has announced the are ready to install a launched coaster. This would give the park an opportunity to do a ride that is different than what they already have.

A Vekoma, with moving track, bearing the entirety of the train's weight at the highest point on the coaster?

At least when Deja Vu broke, it just valleyed. When this one breaks, it'll become the park's second wing coaster -- no track above you or below you because the car isn't on the track at all.

Don't think it'll "fly" quite as well, though. More like something out of Final Destination.

I would love to see a Maverick, Storm Runner or Fahrenheit! After riding Maverick I see no need for tall coasters. I had more fun on Maverick then Millennium Force. After riding Dragster Im addicted to the launch coaster.

I would really like to see a new coaster Iron Wolf's former site in the coming years. It doesn't really matter the type, as along as it isn't a pathetic little kiddie coaster. Some rumors say a skyscreamer may go up next year, but there are MANY different areas where they could put one possibly (condors spot, trailblazers former area, go kart area, sky trails spot, etc.) Although it would cost money, they could make it work. As long as a spot that was occupied by a coaster is filled with another coaster, it's fine by me.

It would be a tight fit but they could put it between Raging Bull's 2nd drop and Viper on the land above Bull's tunnel.

That's not a bad idea either, all I heard is they need an area 100 feet in diameter clear of any possible collisions. Then they worry about the queue and entrance after...

I think the most likely locations for a Sky Screamer would be in Hometown Park, IW's spot, where the coke cool zone was next to the SW Amphitheater, or Trailblazers Spot. The ride itself requires a 52 foot diameter circle.

Oh it's 52? I heard 100, 100 must include the queue. But yeah, any spots listed are great! I know a few parks have taken out their three point challenge to add a sky screamer, but if they ever moved pass processing, that's probably where the new center would end up going. As for IW's former site, I think a sky screamer would be better somewhere else since IW's spot could be used for a smaller coaster. We also have to think about a few little things as well. Trailblazers spot is being used for the Manslaughter Manor queue during Fright Fest, so that may not be the best place. As for the Coke cool zone site, that area seems to be quite fine when it comes for space. Some individuals I've talked to have said possible removal of Condor, Dare Devil Dive, or Sky Trail with the most likely of the three being Sky Trail...

How about the area behind the Johnny Rockets (Former Wascals) and Kidzopolis? There's room between there, Eagle, and The Train

Like everyone, I'd love to see an additional rollercoaster in 2014. Further though, I'd love to see a replacement for Splash Water Falls. I recently got a season pass and went for the first time since 1995. I was sad that Splash Water Falls had to go, but considering X-Flight was it's replacement, I understand. That said, these types of rides provide some thrill and are just awesome. I'm sure a bunch of you are rolling your eyes, but these really bring me back. Also, does anyone know when / why the waterfall at the edge of the cave on Roaring Rapids is gone? Same thing with the in-ground water jets?

The waterfall at the edge of the cave has been gone for awhile I think I saw It running once last year or year before that and with the water jets, they have been not working at all this year last year they were running just fine!

Huh, so the waterfall removal is a recent development. Perhaps they're getting ready to tear this ride out or maybe retrofit it somehow.....Feature removal seems weird, especially when it's so critical to getting soaked on this one...

^ I highly doubt that one waterfall being turned off means the ride is leaving. It's probably just a matter of something not working or the park deciding not to turn it on. They brought back the waterfall at the end late last season anyways, so you'll still get just as wet.

Splash Water falls was not removed because X-Flight was coming. It last ran in 2007, if memory serves and was removed. The space sat empty until X-Flight came.

^Correct; plus, it was a mechanical nightmare especially towards the end. Like it or not, SWF's replacement was most-likely BuckyBattle.
