I worked there when they were switching from park-owned uniforms to employee-purchased uniforms. And right around that time was when I got my green name tag. I loved that name tag.

Whats the Green one mean, all they have now is yellow, red, white, silver.
"The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"
Those uniforms are the same ones you wear all season? You only get one? Speaking of working at the park, Cedar Point recently had issues with their minimum wage. Is theirs still worse than ours?

Cedar Fair got those problems resolved but added some stings to it. The full story is on Scream scape. IL also has a high min wage.
^^ Cedar Point pays the OH minimum $7.30 an hour. IL minimum wage is $7.50, and increasing to $7.75 on July 1st. Cedar Point is also exempt from paying overtime. So from a money standpoint, SFGAm is definitely better.
Ohio Minimum Wage is $7.30. Cedar Point was originally going to pay $7 to most employees with a $.35 bonus. Now, they are actually going to pay minimum wage and not offer a bonus. So in reality it will be $.05 less for an employee who would have worked through a contract.
Illinois Minimum Wage is currently $7.75. It will be going up to $8.00 on July 1 and then to $8.25 a year later.

Oh no. You'd come to the park in your street clothes, go to the wardrobe counter, check out your uniform for the day, change, and go to your unit. At the end of the day, do the reverse: change, return your outfit, etc.
I remember that they would always run out of my size of shorts by the time I got to work It made it really hard to check a train while trying to hold up my pants.
As for minimum wage: when I worked there, pay was just over $5 per hour. But we were given bonuses for every 100 hours we worked (something like $.10 raise).

^ Don't know about your work papers, but IL minimum wage has never been $7.25. In 2006, it was $6.50. It went up to $7.50 on July 1st, 2007, then to $7.75 on July 1st, 2008. It will go up to $8.00 on July 1st of this year. Those papers may be referring to training pay. If I remember correctly, companies are allowed to pay a certain amount below minimum wage during "training" which I believe is legally determined by hours worked.

Illinois' Minimum Wage Increases to $7.75 on July 1st, 2008 Governor Blagojevich reminds Illinois employers and workers that the state’s minimum wage increases to $7.75 an hour starting on July 1, 2008. The minimum wage will increase by an additional 25 cents in each of the following two years to $8.00 on July 1, 2009; and $8.25 on July 1, 2010. On Dec. 18, 2006 Gov. Blagojevich signed into law legislation increasing the state minimum wage to $7.50 per hour on July 1, 2007. The minimum wage will increase by an additional 25 cents in each of the following two years to $8.00 on July 1, 2009; and $8.25 on July 1, 2010.
Your starting wage may be less if you are a minor and will increase after 100 hours. Though if you are 15, I think they can pay you less even after 100 hours.
I had to run up there to get my paycheck from Discovery today.
I guess I'll see you around there!
Good luck, and don't get termed.
