Personally I think ragincajun sucks. Its a little kiddie ride that has a longer wait then raging bull. I know that little kids need a coaster appropriate for them but thats what the whizzer is for. I think that it is the worst ride at great america, i wouldn't mind at all if it was torn down.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.
Ragin Cajun makes me sick... my dad dragged me on there with my sister when we went to the park and I almost threw up when we got off. I agree, it was a waste of money, but I am almost positive that they would have gotten a Mr. Six's Pandemonium if it was available instead of Ragin Cajun.
They make Ragin' Cajun's queue UNBEARABLE! It's so long and the sun is beating down on everyone. When I was in line one time for it.. this old women looked so miserable with sweat pouring down her poor face and she told us that this is just cruel.
They seriously need shading and do something to make the line move faster.
Put some trees or some sort of shading. I seen people get off that ride red as a stop sign. Pack some extra sun screen. Maybe, if i'm wrong they can ease off the brake before it starts spinning. I remember when it first opened up it didn't have that brake on and you will spin wild, yes sometimes it was intense, but it made it funner.

If you don't like it, don't ride it, also, its not really a kiddie ride as you have to be 48 inches tall to ride. And nothing else would fit in it's space except maybe a flat ride.
No offense, but some of you are really darn selfish. It's not Roller Coaster Tycoon here people. There's more to a park than big rollercoasters. More families visit the park than we do. The park caters to them before they cater to us. So I suggest you all hush up, because that ride is probably paid off already.

Thank god some common sense in a forum full of selfish coaster dorks.
I agree with the others who have said this... If you don't like it, don't ride it. Just because you hate it, doesn't mean that it isn't someone elses favorite ride.
I personally thing that SFGAm could not have found a better use for that spot. RC fits in great with it's area, and provides a wild and fun family ride amidst all of the bigger coasters that surround it.
Mr. SFGAm.... who personally likes RC more than Iron Wolf or Deja Vu.
I personally like ragin cajin since it is a family ride. THe reason I like this is because maybe now six flags will get rid of whizzer and put something better in its space. And then everyone who likes whizzer cant complain that there arent any other family roller coasters.
Stats:Raging Bull:1
Demon:1
Batman:1
Amrimcan Eagle Red:3
Viper:4
Whizzer:5
Iron Wolf:1/4 (I thought about going on it)
I can't consider this a family coaster, and I don't understand how SF could say that the full Mardi Gras is a family section. And can't see why you couldn't fit a Giant Frisbee in there.

I like Ragin' Cajun! I was there for its media day opening and was interviewed on WGN TV's morning news and said that it was something that Great America has needed for a long time. The ride is different every time, and it never fails to give me the "spins". It is a perfect ride for the site it is on.
We should all remember to be thankful to have a world-class theme park like Six Flags Great America here in our local area!
SixFlagsChick wrote:well cajun still has a 48" height restriction.... and whizzer you have to be 36... so its still a great kids ride for really young kids.
Exactly... Considering Cajun as a family coaster would be like considering Viper or American Eagle as a family coaster, all because of the 48" height requirement.
Sure it might be more tame than the two woodies, but Whizzer is a different type of family coaster in the sense that almost anyone can ride it. That is not the case with Ragin' Cajun.
