2005.....This is most likely when Great America will get a new roller coaster/thrill machine. I would just like to know what people think this should be...As of now, the park already knows what they are getting if their getting anything at all.I expect something that is the first of its kind...becasue that is what they are known for. Maybe I'm wrong though.I'm putting my bets toward a rocket coaster or a 4-D Coaster.
Wow thats a while away. If we get anything in 2005, I think it should be a few flats. However if we got a coaster, you can pretty much say good bye to Whizzer since you know thats on Great Americas list of things to go. Shockwave saved it this year but that only bought it a little more time, I think our next coaster will go into that area. I hope we get a 4D next but who knows what type of coaster they could come up with in the next 2 years.
It would be awesome, but I just can't picture a 4D here... Probably because of all the bugs it had, but most likely by then maybe they'll have all its flaws out. That would be cool if we got a 4D...
Yeah I really don't think that SFGAm would waste time and money on something that is totally unreliable. I can see SFGAm having much more sense than that. Maybe though, if they make it better, we'll see it in the future.
I think that the next coaster should be in the parking lot by Space Shuttle America (and remove the parking lot when they add the coaster.) After that, I think they should put a new coaster where Ice Mountain Splash is (I think IMS is better than Logger's Run but sadly, IMS is the one that SF seems to neglect to open). After that, sadly they would have to remove a coaster.
I heard a few stories that SF is able to expand the park to across the highway.i don't exactly noe(its just a rumor) but i really think they should just expand park instead of taking out great rollercoasters and other rides parents could ride w/their younger kids!!! that would be awesome!!!! ~41 DAYZ!!!~

Yeah I heard that they owned the land across the highway. Also they were talking about putting a water park there if they were going to put stuff there.
do u think they'll actually do it??? i'd rather have them expand the park for more rollercosters and other rides.....theres already a lot of water parks in Illinois!!

No, I don't see a water park happening... But, just because they don't build a water park, doesn't mean they're going to put coasters in it's place... It is across the highway after all and would make it very complicated get to and from each side...
Yeah I agree. You don't want a complicated set up for just a waterpark. I am not that thrilled over waterparks. When I found out my homepark wasn't getting a hyper coaster but rather water slides I was very disappointed. I'm sure many people would also be feeling this same way if they were expecting a thrill ride and got a waterpark.
Oh to comment on the whole highway thing, that will not happen until the highway is fixed or upgraded or what ever you want to call it. But I doubt that there would be any roller coasters over there most likely it will be a waterpark and shopping center. So yea, dont plan on it happening any time soon. I remeber reading it online or in the paper somewhere. Which gets me mad!

It's not how high or how fast you build the roller coaster it's how smooth you build it!
Yeah, I don't really care if they ever do it... I'd rather them be putting money into adding stuff to the existing park (rides, etc.)... I would never go to Gurnee to slide down water slides when there are those huge steel (and wooden) beasts staring at me from across the highway...
I know I wouldnt either, but it would be for the whole whinny type of people like my friends mom and sister, oh its so hot Im too tired, etc. And then with the shopping area, Great America would also get money doing that, therefore for all of us coaster lovers, MORE ROLLER COASTERS! So for any type of person its a win win situation.

Yeah as much as we'd like to think it, SFGAm is not just geared to us coaster lovers and enthusiasts. There are families and children that could care less about the coasters that go to the park.
Cedar Point has a thing for Intamin. I think WE'LL be seeing more B&M. After all, they gave us the first-B&M coaster-Invert-HypertwisterI see much more to come.
Don't be so sure, the past 2 ride packages have not been inovative for the most part. Though Deja Vu was a new design, it is a triplet of terrible design (well, originally it was.) V2 was already around for 2 or 3 years (not sure when Linear Gale was built,) and Superman is the 3rd flier from B&M. Not that there is anything wrong with having not-state-of-the-art things being put in. I'm more happy we are getting a clone of SUF than if we were getting a brand new S&S Screaming Squirrel or some new sort of flat ride, or something like that. Anyways, remember what that little park in Denver got last year? It was brand new, never before seen, but it looks like it's a tourcher device!
