Its not really open for FF....I know this sounds a little insane, but I was once told that DejaVu's steel or track freezes so if it ran it causes stress to the coaster. Im not stating this as a fact but thats what I was told by a ride op two years ago. It was FF and it was 35 degrees outside( :x ) this is when he told me why it was down...?

All of the coasters cannot be run if it is under 30 degrees. Frozen steel is weak and stress fractures can occur. Hence I was sent to get recertified at Rapids my second season there, when I was supposed to be training to run Shockwave, but it was frigid outside so all I could get certified for on that ride was attendant, until it was warm enough to run the coaster. But when I worked there ops weren't allowed to tell anyone why the ride was down, wonder why they changed that. But anyway, it's not just Vu that can't be run when it's cold, all the steel coasters have that weakness. It's part of the reason the park closes during cold weather months.
Welcome to ShockWave please pull your harness down as far as it will go. While riding ShockWave please keep your hands and feet inside the car, and your head against the headrest, please hold on to all loose articles, especially hats and glasses. Enjoy your ride!

I really did not know that coasters cannot run under 30 degrees. I was very sure that were able to run, I know Deja Vu has things like that cause it will run slow and not catch if it is under 40, but it could still run and complete the circuit, but continuous miscatches. I know I have been on coaster while it was snowing before, and it snows when the temp. is around 32, so I think coasters can run, but it wont be as fast, just a little slower due to the contraction of the track cause of the cold weather, causes the trains to run slower along the circuit.

During Last Blast 2 years ago or so it was like 35 degrees out on the Friday night and Vu ran great.

Does it really matter if Deja Vu is opened or closed this weekend? There are 11 other coasters for you to ride, and they all will have extremely long lines.
