I was wondering just how bad the crowds will be this Sunday??
I know they have a coke event at the park/picnic area and it is bring a firend for free day which should make for a very busy day. So for those who have been at the park in the past when coke has had a park outing, how busy will it be, how bad will the lines be??
I was thinking of going for about 5/6 hrs but if what i have heard about the crowds are true it isnt worth the time/price of gas to visit.
I assume they plan on having light crowds, They sent an email out today saying how nice the weather will be and such, trying to get people to go tomorrow it appears.
My guess is it wont be to bad, then again who knows, it could end up being very busy.
I once went to a private coke event (they bought out the park) a few years back and it was the best day I ever had at the park, it was literally an abandoned park, Not a single line for any ride in the park, was a great day!
Anyone planning on going this weekend should go Saturday, or just wait until Fright Fest. Every year, Coca-Cola employees go there the last day of the regular season making it more crowded than normal.
Crowds + staffing issues = Very scary.
I made that mistake 2 years in a row, now I have vowed never to go on that day again.
oh... great... thaink Shock Wave! i have a group of liek 8 ppl that i'm bringing and then i'm meeting mroe people there! Is it really going to be THAT bad?
Last year wasnt horrible and staffing isnt bad, it is a weekend, not a weekday, all the high school employees are still there and will work. They are probably getting some employees from the other parks and some of the life gaurds are being trained as ops. Crowds were not bad at all last year, I think Nolan is going crazy. But it could be and couldn't be, no one truly knows how the crowds will be.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
I know it is a weekend, but they're still slightly understaffed. Labor Day, Scenic Railroad was round trip only. Bull doesn't start in 3 train-op anymore. Stargate was closed last weekend.
From what Coasterdude316 told me today when I was in the park for a short 1 hour, that Coke didnt hold an event but another company rented out the same amount of space in the picnic grove as Coke has in the past.
The crowds today were unbearable to say the least.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I was going to hit the park after I got out of Wrigley but I took one look at the parking lot and said no way. With the lots that full and Hurricane Harbor not open that means huge crowds.
I'm glad the park was busy and raking in some cash...I just didn't want to be a part of it today.
