Major parking pass crisis

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby punkbunny24242 on April 28th, 2005, 6:51 am
OK I have a MAJOR crisis on my hands and I realize that I am probably SOL...

So yesterday I went looking for my ticket for the parking pass and for the coupon books and I could not find them. I later find out the on Monday my sweetheart fiance decided to clean the bedroom and thought that they were nothing important (because he did not read them) and then threw them away!! And of course to make this story even better yesterday morning was trash day so they are gone. GONE! 1st of all I don't mind buying a new parking pass with his money but it really sucks because the parking pass was my birthday gift from my parents (that's my birthday gift every year) but I am actually more concerned with the tickets for the coupon books. We use so many of those coupons throughout the year!

He is going to try and call them today to see if there is anything that they can do to help us but my question to you is... for anyone that has the parking pass ticket already is there any kind of barcode or name on it that would make it impossible for anyone else to activate? I don't remember there being anything on there so I figure that they could think that I either sold the ticket or just gave it to someone else. If there was a barcode they could probably put a stop on that one and issue me a new one. I get a parking pass and season pass every year and nothing like this has ever happened. I figure since it is still before the park is even open and there is no possible way that I could have turned them in already that maybe they will have mercy on my soul. Once again I am assuming that I am already SOL and I will be mad at him for the whole season but I figure it is worth a shot to try and call the park and see what they say. I do feel bad because last night boy was I yelling at him. And he felt horrible "Baby I was trying to help you by cleaning" I was pretty hard on him last night but could you blame me??

Any help would be appriciated!!

Yah, I understand where you are coming from. But like accidents do happen...he just didnt know that it was important. I dont wanna sound mean or make you mad because thats not my intention..but if it was important you should've put it in a safe spot where it couldnt get thrown away. But either way..don't be so mad at him...I'm sure it was a total accident.

I don't know if they they do things differently with the parking pass but last season my wallet fell out of my pocket and was I think wedged in the seat on the Whizzer. Then an employee found it and returned it. It had my season pass in there and when my mom called Guest Relations they said that they could send me a new pass no problem; free of charge. Like I said I don't know if they do anything differently with the parking pass. It's worth a shot to call anyways...the worst they could say is that they can't do anything for you. Sorry if they can't. I hope that you figure something out.

OK so I just spoke to Six Flags on my lunch break and they are going to put "Special Circumstance" cards in our files so that we can get our coupon books on our 1st visit but I have to call Texas about my parking pass so wish me luck...

Just a props to Six Flags Great America's customer service also. They man that I spoke to was so nice. I've never had a problem with anyone there in Guest Relations or Customer Service.

Ya, that made me jump up and check if mine was still here. If I were you I'd give guest realtions a call. The good news is, that there is a number on the voucher so you might not be out of luck. I would just make it a point to call before the first day of the season so it does not look like you are trying to pull a fast one on them.

Exactally!! See I figured if there was a number on the parking pass maybe they could disable it and just send me a new one. I'm hoping

Even if you cant get a new pass its not a huge deal, and not a crisis as you stated.

 crisis

a little too melodramatic

I'm a woman... of course I am a drama queen!

I understand that it's not that big of a deal... it's $30 for gods sake. I'm sorry that I made it sound that way. It just really sucks because it'll be another $30 out of my pocket and the fact that it was given to me as a gift. Maybe I did use a bad choice of wording at 7am with no coffee in my system. Everything is a crisis then.

i'm gonna say either call them or when you go there first, beg for mercy (and a new cupon book) as for the parking pass, either simply go buy a new one or do it the hard way, go trash picking at the local dump! :D

I am so happy to announce that it is over.

On my 1st trip to the park (better be tomorrow) I have to go to Guest Relations where they will present me with my 2 coupon books and parking pass. I have had to make many calls to different places and only came across 1 not very nice person. Everyone else that I delt with was wonderful! I love this place! I commented to the last GR person that I spoke to that I have been coming to the park ever since I was a baby and if there ever was a situation I was meet with great service and happy attitudes and that I will be writing a letter of thanks to the park and to the Guest Relations department.

The situations that I have encountered:

1998- I lost my wallet at the park.. it slipped out of my pocket somewhere and had $85 dollars cash in it. The result- Chris T in maintnence found it and was returned with all cash in it (I also wrote letter of thanks to the wonderful man)

2004- My fiance's wallet fell off on Iron Wolf. The result- we did recieve it back but $30 was missing. Heck we were still happy to get it back because we know that the park is not responsible. Plus I think the money fell out and was blowing around anyway because we think we saw it from the line and it was on the ground open.

This park has always been friendly and very accomidating and I just NEEDED to give it the props that it deserves.
