This came up from another park's website because I was talking with them about one train operations. When SFGAm, shuts down the rollercoasters, for the day, do they always put the trains on the storage tracks (I don't know the technical term for that.)? I don't think it's necessary except for a couple few.
To me, I only see RB as relevant for this for the fact that the second train doesn't come up under a roof. It is out in the open. For Demon, the train is out in the open, but so are the storage tracks. So, I don't see the use for it. For SUF, the second train is out in the open, so that should go in the covered area. For BTR, it's covered, so I think they should just stay on the "regular" track. As for V2 and D Vu', you can't really do anything because their is no storage track.
With RC and IW, I don't believe they have coverings over the rides, so why take them off the track? Whizzer is the same way. For Am E, I would again say no. For Viper, does the storage track go in that building? I don't think so, so why move it? I don't think Spacely's has a storage track.
I does'nt because Spacely's only has one train, so when the park is closed I don't think that they take it off of the track except during the off season.
They don't have transfer tracks for one train rides. I don't think that Eagle's trains go on the transfer track, because it can only hold one train, and the whole station and brake run area has covering. I would guess that all of the other rides go onto their transfer tracks though, just to be checked and fixed. It's not that big of a deal though, it just takes a little bit of time.
Couldn't they just fix the trains on the regular track? To me, it just seems like a waste of time to put trains on the transfer track except for SUF, an RB when the park closes.
All of the rollercoasters are placed on storage tracks overnight except for Sprockets, AE and Ragin Cajun. They are placed on storage tracks so the mainenance crews can inspect them easier. The storage areas are more open underneath the tracks so wheel assemblies, car underframes and other parts of the train that aren't accesible from the top. Station areas have large platforms, making it difficult for access. It's much easier and safer to work on a train in a storage area.
And it doesn't take that long to transfer the trains off of the main track. Less than 5 minutes in most occasions.
Why wouldn't they do Am E or RC? Does these rides have storage tracks. I know Am E does.
