I doubt anyone has taken pictures, it isjust like how it was before. It just look darker because of the fresh coat of paint on Vu. It looks a lot better though, it is only a few more days till the park opens, then people will have pictures of it.

Maybe, they painted Batman blue. They might have some extra paint. Since someone has seen the ride somewhat painted, it can't be much difference (color) than it was before. Hold on tight, the park is finally going to be open.
I think that SFGAm should've painted it last year instead of Demon. I don't really notice a huge difference with Demon. If D Vu' was painted already, I would.

But... Perhaps demon acually needed paint more than DeJaVu. If there is chipped paint where the primer has been worn away then that exposes bare metal to rain sun and wind. This causes oxidation (rust) and will weaken the metal.
Now would you rather let the ride rust and eventually have to replace critical parts, or would you rather paint a brand new ride just to get rid of blotches.

I havn't seen any rust on Demon before. Another year, it could have waited. Between the two, I would still have painted D Vu' first anyway. People may just look at that ride and think that this PARK is turing to a piece of junk. This is the same senario when half of New Orleans was basically a walk-through. People might think, "they can't even take care of there rides, why should I go here?"

Im fairly sure the general public doesn't care much about slightly lighter coloured blotches on the rides. If anything they would be more concerned about the upstop wheels not contacting the track in the station. People care about safety before paint and most people know DeJaVu is brand new.
Demon did have rust. It was really noticable from the midway between County Fair and SWT. Not to mention the bare steel that was showing through the paint.
It was a good decision in SFGAm's part to paint Demon over Deja Vu. Demon needed it a lot more than any other ride. Safety is much more important than how a ride looks, and just like he said above, who really looks at the blotches, they might think it is part of the ride.

I took a couple videos and pictures of Vu last year, the blotches showed up madstyle. It looked pretty bad. Ah well, it's getting painted and I'm happy. Did they fix the bad welds in the station yet?
Who looks at bloches? It looked like fungus was on the ride for goodness sakes. Are people that unknowledgable to think that's how the ride is supposed to look? Fine, what's done has been done, but the thing is that people notice outward appearance more than internal. The mechanics and enthusiasts notice more internal things.
I'll ride D Vu' no matter if it's purple and has holes (small only) in the supports just because I know it's a great ride to me. I'll go to the park even if let's say Hometown Park was taken apart like half of New Orleans (only example, not real) was. How many of the GP would come back to a place that is being torn apart, and rides just look bad to begin with. Some people might say that such that this park is not being taken care of. It is junk.
Put blotches on all the rides then, and see if people care. Amusement parks are about impressions just like many other things are in the world today. I think many enthusiasts on this site just think of D Vu' as "oh that ride." "We know it's going to have problems (mechanics, paint) so we will just deal with it." The tendency is kind of to ignore what's wrong with it.
I think the other thing is that when you to go the park many times, you begin to notice less and less about each ride everytime. I can take BTR for instance. It had a new paint job, and it was shocking to me at first. I soon got used to the paint (only) after going to the park more and more.
For one time or two time people, it's hard to not really notice rides (What's that new yellow and blue rollercoaster?BTR, D Vu' looks bad.).

I never did understand the reason for the paint blotches. Is there really no way to prevent them? I think that the park should try some other kinds of paint, so they won't have to drain money into painting it every other year.
I remember back in 2002, I was in the station for Vu with my friend and a guy next to us was talking to his friend about DV's paint. He was saying that they tried to 'touch up' the ride's supports at night time and since it was dark it was hard to see and the color they chose wasn't exact... No idea how he came up with that. But anyways, I've heard people saying that it's just some grease or oil that dries up in patches on the supports.
