Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I remember watching it miscatch a bunch of times opening day last year. I also remember being in line approaching the station and seeing it miscatch the 2nd tower with people on it. Possibly the same day Aero was there.

DejaVu The Ride wrote:The ride actually has very poor track that needs a lot of welding. When the train bottoms out, it hurts the track. I'm not actually sure why the ride closes for so long, but I have been led to believe that it is not because of the pulley sustem. :)

Nope.

Have they found a cure? Read the last post in this topic concerning SFMM.

Hopefully they have, and hopefully on opening day it'll be operating from open to close. I really hope that happens for SFGAm's Deja Vu.

From someone who worked at the ride in 2003 here is what happens.

When there is a miscatch on Tower 2 the brakes stop the train on the loop. They release the brakes on tower 2 and it stops at the bottom of the tower. They move the catch car above the train and they raise it back up the tower.

If it is between the loop and the cobra roll then they split the train in half and use a crane to drag it over the loop to the bottom of the tower. There is no piece of straight track to take the train off between the loop and the cobra roll. The train bottoms out there and that section is one big curve.
