I was wondering has anybody ridden a BIG coaster in the park when the were little(around 8,9,10). Man i remember riding v2 and bull when i was only 9! Have you ridden any BIG coasters at sfgam when your were about or aound 8 9 or 10?
I went to Great America long ago when I was a kid. the only thing I can remember riding was Logger's Run. and I don't think I even wanted to ride that.
then I went to Opryland when I was a little older and that was the first time I rode a looping coaster (Wabash Cannonball). I was about to ride Hangman, but my mom wouldn't let me.
riding the Cannonball, though, that was pretty freaky. going upsidedown for the first time and all.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
My first coaster ever was Shockwave, i was 8 or 9 years old at the time
My cousin AJ, whose about 8 years old last year went on Deja Vu, and he loved it. IN fact he still talks about "I went on Deja Vu" when i mention Six Flags.
My 4 year old daughter will probably be riding demon this year. Not that big to me, but to her it will be the tallest one for her yet, and her first upside down experience.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.
Wow you were a tall 4 year old. But I guess if your 6"6 now your used to being the tallest kid in the class. Anyways I always think of Demon being my first big coaster even though I went on American Eagle before that.

I love reading these threads you kids are so young, first coaster is bull, ha! What's even funnier is that I'm not even that much older than ya'll.
I went on AE:B for my first real coaster, I believe I was 6 or so. Maybe 5. I remember looking at all the lights from up so high, and then wooooooooooooooosssssssshhhhh! Then ensued screaming, grabbing my mother, more screaming, then afterwards jumping up and down and more screaming, "Again! Again!"
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
My first big coaster was American Eagle (Blue Side) when I was 7. I loved it, and grew an affection for wood coasters after that. Right now my favorite wood coaster is Roar at SFMW.
My first looper and big coaster was BTR when I was 10. It was the 4th coaster I'd ever ridden. The only other coaster at SFGAm I rode before that was Spacely's. After I rode Batman I was pretty much hooked, but still scared to ride coasters. I started riding the bigger ones at age 11.
My first looper was Tidal Wave when it first opened. I was 9 at the time, and I really wanted a "I survived the Tidal Wave" T-shirt. Well my Mom (God rest her soul), would not buy it for me unless I acually rode it. I begged, I pleaded, I think I even cried alittle , but to no avail. I REALLY wanted that shirt, so I toughened up, and jumped on. Needless to say, I got my shirt, and rode Tidal Wave several more times that day . Then after that, the next "big" looper was Turn of the Century.
Here it is 27 years later, and I am patiently waiting for my kids to grow up, so when asked what their first rollercoaster experiance was they will say "When my Dad took me on The Demon."
I actually didnt start going to six flags till i was 11 so i missed out on riding while i was little. Other than that i just went to little america, thats where the TRUE scary rides are
My First coaster was Whizzer. Then When I was five I rode american Eagle. That turned me away from coasters til I was about thriteen when I rode Viper. My next trip I did, Bull, Batman (My first loop), demon, V2, and Iron Wolf.
The Next year I got a season pass...Nuff said.
I was 12 when I rode Batman. I wasn't too young, but I was so scared to ride it. I remember all of my other friends had been to six flags so many more times than I had been, and they had ridden all of the coasters, while I had only ridden the Whizzer. I remember getting off batman and being a bit queezy, and they wanted to do it again! I was scared again, but i remember getting off the ride the second time being happy and wanting to ride it again!
