Otherwise, I don't see why it needs refurbishing. The only reason I could think of them changing it is to have different theme because it's next to the Superman ride, but I highly doubt it.

Well, I don't know if they plan on changing the theming, but it is getting a maintenance refurb, and hopefully a new coat of paint, much like they have done in the past with Triple Play, ERC, and Orbit. There must have been a reason that made Six Flags decide that this should be the next flat to be refurbished.
Come to think of it, there really isn't anything else they could theme it to without getting new cars for the ride.
Yep, remember that a lot of the time when a ride goes down for rehab, they are working mechanically on it. Mechanics and safety comes first before appearance and theme.
Just because a ride looks like it is in nice condition doesnt mean that it doesnt need a rehab.
It's too bad they won't work with the height. Call me silly, but I happen to be a daredevil when it comes to rides. Could they at least make this ride 60 feet taller? Just kidding!
Aero737 is totally right. What good is it when you wash the outside of the car but leave the inside of it a disaster? What benefit if you wash the outside of the cup but leave the inside smelly and dirty? Nada!
And so it is with a theme park ride. That's why hard-working mechanics step out of their comfort zones every morning (emphatic) and take a long expedition of inspection on the tracks to detect any unsafe spots such as a hole in the tracks or loose nails. I don't know how they inspect the steel coasters but they literally walk the entire wooden coaster tracks on the job. Then they have to check out the coaster cars themselves and do the same thing to the wheels, restraint systems and such. They need to make sure the wheels are secure on the coaster cars. If they find any unsafe conditions they are immediately reported and if needed they shut the ride down.
Six Flags has the same priority on all their flat rides. The maintenance workers need to inspect the wheels, ride vehicles, and tracks as well as the motor which operates it.
Six Flags vehemently strives to prevent accidents so safety is their number one priority. I know many won't agree with me but it's the truth.

Is it me or is this the most worthless post ever!?
Well, it is great that they're finally working with the mechanicks of the ride because i got stuck on top once.
Aww, I like that grating, it's had it since it was traveling in Germany
I'd like to see them take up Huss on their Car Retrofit offer they have. Huss introduced a few years ago Fly Away Cars that can be put on Condors (Fly Away is their lay down enterprise), while the cars arent all that comfortable (they look and feel like giant waffle irons), it would definately make the ride unique and thrilling again.
Also I'm hoping for a longer cycle, out of all the condors I've ridden ours has the worst cycle, most of the other ones stop on the way up and way down, the speed changes multiple times including everything stopping up top. There are quite a few neat things that can be done with that ride.

I don't know if you kids ride Condor too much, but all I remember from last season was that I had to start pushing my restraint to get it to lock almost every time I ride it. New paint and new light's sound sweet, so does FParker's idea.

I don't know why they would change that. That seems really stupid, and wasteful. SFKK needs the money, give it to them instead. Otherwise, Viper should have a line in the station. Am E line is done by a drunken person. D Vu' should also have a line in the station along with Whizzer.
I know that the mechanics should be rehabed, but I think the park will do something drastic to the ride. You have to remember that last year we had BTR painted purple and yellow with elimination of some scenery, Triple Play now has a new color scheme, and lastly Demon was painted??????? I never understood that, and I will never understand that.
When the season opens, I dare everyone to ask someone, did you notice anything different about Demon?

Awww, I liked that metal grating.
FParker brought up another idea on how to rehab the condor ride. They could change the cycle and make the ride last longer since the ride doesn't get too long of a line.

As with new concrete, you're not talking just a few inches. That's a good 12 feet, and I don't think it would be worth it to construct something like that. The metal is so much cheaper.
actually, if the ride still isnt trailer mounted, they can just set the gondola to drop those 10 or so feet down to the existing concrete (though I'm not sure if it was mounted to concrete or if it's still on it's trailer. Most park models are mounted to the ground and go all the way down.
