Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Will sfgam itself be less crowded because of hurricane harbor? I hope so, I HATE LINES!

I hope the waterpark will keep lines low in the real park but I cannot say for certain. It does look impressive, but I don't know if it will draw enough people there. All I know is it will have much longer lines than SFGAm for at least 2 years

I think lines will probably be the same as they have been lately. People who are going for the waterpark will spend most of their time in the waterpark. Maybe lines will be bad until the 12PM opening (if thats when it will open) but then they will just be the same.

The park is usually empty from opening until 11:00 or 11:30. Then at night it is usually also empty. So on an average day I would think that it will stay the same.

I think the waterpark would probably reduce lines by quite a bit on warm days. For cold days, a person would probably wait as much as they did last year. Waterparks take a lot of people, believe it or not. With 25 attractions, I would expect that to reduce the lines.

^That is, if everything stays the same. By this I mean, that all flats and rollercoasters will be operating like they did.

This could happen though:
Waterpark=more employees=more money
thus
Regular Park=less employees=less rides running

So, it all depends on whether the rides will be running like they did last year. If so, it should significantly reduce people in the park.

You have to be certified to be a lifegaurd so they won't be taking ops out of the regular park and just sticking them in the waterpark. They might not hire as many workers for the regular park and hire more for the waterpark. But I really think that they'll keep the same amount of workers in the regular park.

I believe I heard they have to hire 300+ employees to staff the waterpark. The vast majority of those have to be cerified lifeguards.

That number may be a little off but Ron Sevart, the new GM, made mention of it at NoCoasterCon.
