Is it worth going to Great America on opening day? Is it usually crowded?

Sorry I know its a little early...

it'll probably depend on the weather, but it should be a light crowd day.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

This year, it was pretty empty. It was cold though. I would guess that
it would be empty. Nothing (as far as we know) is going to be added to
the park, so there wouldn't be a big crowd. I guess it's to early to tell.

I would say that the 2 big factors in a big crowd or not, is the weather
and what has or hasn't been added to the park.

I am praying for slightly bad weather because I will be there opening day also and want the park all to myself  I went last year opening day and if I remember correctly it was not busy at all. It doesn't get REALLY busy until the middle of June it seems. I can't wait!! I hope all of the Jug 'O Jugglers are back next year too.

Your right, but it's torture if you have to go to school. But i still get to go every weekend, so i shouldn't complain. I'll also probably go on a weekday that we get out early on.

We usually go about 4 or 5 times in May alone! It is wonderfully slow during the week! We usually get my nephew out of school 1 day so he can expiernce the joy of going on each ride at least 5 or 6 times in 1 day!!

Opening day is not always mega busy, but can get pretty crowded. Take Opening Day 2003 for example. It was a nice day out and it was pretty busy.

Yes, I will be there opening day, rain or shine, or hurricane.

Yeah, it depends on the weather. Like this past opening day, they said it would rain a lot and it was going to be pretty cold. Hardly any rain, but still cold. And it was empty. Fun day...

I can't wait til opening day 05. I'll be there no matter what.

I'll definatley be there, with an abnoxiosuly tall kid. Am I running to anything? No. Do I want to? Yes. Do I feel like it? No. As long as I get that DDR machine, hehe everything is good. Plus I want my Bull backrow. It's the best on opening day, because over the season you grow an immunity, off-season you lose it. So it's a great day to get some great G's baby!

I found that opening Sunday of every season is a really good day to go. I've been going opening Sunday for the past 4 years now and there is always a VERY light crowd. But if you can't wait an extra day then I guess go on Saturday.

Opening Day and Mother's Day. Mother's day is always the week after opening, and I'd say longest wait was not even 10min for Bull. Vu is a Walk-On as well as every other ride. My brother and day had Looney Toon Lodge all to theirselves!

I will bust out crying on opening day walking back into my home away from home and listening to the looney tunes themed music and watching superman test run with that coveted b&m roar. And when i get up to raging bulls station and hear the recording "Welcome to raging bull please youre lap bar down as far as it will go". I will fall to the ground in a emotional break down of joy tears       man  opening day  FREAKING ROCKS

If I don't go the first weekend I will go the second. (you know, that whole, parents divorced thing, everyother weekends and such)

Like mr. wizard up there, I'll probably be getting some DDr on, but coasters first when DDr is all year 'round. Then I'll run over and check out the water park if its not too chilly, it'd be empty-ish if it was colder out. HH ain't going to be very fun during the 90 degree days when its packed full of hot sticky wet children.

You won't be able to visit Hurricane Harbor the 2nd weekend of the operating season. It will not be ready.
