Reliability for the Typhoon/etc. I've been on so many Predator, Typhoon, and Orbitor rides in which I never had a problem with them. For the family part, I don't think that every single flat has to be for families.
For something out of date, you could always get something used with the same name. For a Zipper, would anyone really care if it's on a truck?? I would bet you that you put two good Zippers in, the line would be super long in queue form. With all things considering they are cheaper used than most flats, so you could buy two. The line usually never empty when I go on it. I always seem to wait.
For Freak Out, if KMG has a deluxe one just like that (I'm sure they do.), that would be good. The Afterburner at Allstar Amusements made by Fabbri is terrible on my legs, and thus they should never get Fabbri's version of somewhat the same ride.
All in all, my philosophy is that we have a lot of "family" rides. If our park is going for flats, they need some intense ones too. However, three of the rides I mentioned are "family" rides. I could consider all of these (flat) "family" rides that SFGAm has.
Condor, STT, Bumper Cars, Hometown Fun Machine, Two Carousels, Train, East River Crawler, Whirlgig, JWR, BEB, Antique Cars, Fiddler's Fling???? (Just kidding), Trailblaizer, River Rocker, Chubasco, Orbit, Triple Play, Ricochet, Water Rides
So, basically SFGAm has 22 "family" flats including the four water rides.
The rest are Giant Drop, King Chaos, Space Shuttle America (Stargate SG 3000), and Revolution. The real reason why I believe they should do this is because on days when there are not many families in the park, the rollercoasters are jammed to the brink while many of the flats are almost empty.
I'm sorry to say this, but I havn't been on any of those Mondial rides yet (I believe) so I can't comment on them.
