Just checked weather.com and there is a 50% chance of showers tomorrow.... 20-30mph winds.... and its supposed to feel like the mid 30's. Am I mistaken or will this equal a very empty park... and a lot of rides not operating?
Hrmm I really want to get there tomorrow but I dont know if it will be worth it
In my personal opinion, I think that the rides will be ok. It was pretty
cold, in the 40's I believe for the First day of operation, and a Tornado
Watch was in effect, and it was GREAT. Cold, but great. Every ride,
except for DJV and V2 was open.
So, my prediction for tomorrow is, low-mid crowds, most rides will
be open. DJV probably closed! I'm still planning on going!

What "First day of operation" would this be? DejaVu and V2 were both open for Opening Day this season and opening day of Fright Fest.
And,
Yes, they have been known to close early but I don't see tomorrow being the day.
I wouldn't expect the park to be empty. It is still a Saturday in Fright Fest. If the park is empty, then let it be a treat to you. Most rides should be in operation though, so that shouldn't be a problem.(Even Dejavu will probably show its face.)
I've never seen them close early... even in a tornado watch... ooooh
I'm getting excited for tomorrow
Mother's day 2003 they closed early because of heavy winds (gusts into the 50mph range) and pretty steady rain all day. I HIGHLY doubt that they will close early at all this weekend. Crowds will probably be somewhat small but at the same time they could be huge, weather doesn't always dictate how full or empty the park will be.
As for rides not operating, if it is cold and wet Blood River will not be running at all. DejaVu also probably wont be running, but at the same time it could also be running. Opening weekend it was dry, but temps were in the 40's and dejavu ran fairly well. Rides that will close in the rain are Whizzer and Iron wolf and Spacelys and Revolution because of the tire drive systems.
I hope it is empty. I am definately going tomarrow. I also really hope Deja Vu is open. My hope is that it will be empty becuase so many people will leave because of the cold, but... you never know.

From what Aero said, Revolution, Spacely's, Whizzer, and most of the time DejaVu close in rain. But, I have seen Iron Wolf run in light to moderate rain, so it all really depends.
Well, Iron wolf has a tire drive system in the station and no mettalic brakeing system to stop the train. From what I've heard is that the tires get wet and the train just slides through the station. Even recently I've seen it slide a bit too far out of the station.
Spacelys wont run because it has an exposed tire lift system, revolution has the tire drive system, whizzer also has a tire drive system in the station but also has the eletrical lift system, and dejavu is well...it's dejavu-if the wind blows the wrong way the ride breaks down.
Because of the gloomy weather, the attendance couldn't break the 20k barrier. If not for the wind and near-record cold, we could've hit 35k. Not to mention Vu shut down. I haven't even rode the green and blue stinker once this entire season.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

It has standard brakes at the end of the ride, after that there are tires that advance the train from those brakes to the station where the train tends to slip around when things get wet. I've never never heard of a train sliding completely though the station though, or any emergency brakes of any type. If it did slide though the station it'd probably rear-end the train that just left the station or just slide up onto the lift where they'd hit a lift stop.

There are conventional friction brakes at the end of the brake run and in the transfer area. There brakes in the station are tires. There are no emergency brakes in the station.

I know this. When I said no mettalic breaking system to slow the ride, I was reffering to the point inside the station.
^I believe they have E brakes on the sides of the track for situations like that. I could be wrong though but I'm positive that the station has E-brakes just in case the train over shoots the station.
