Is Revolution mostly powered by the two tires under there? or are they just protection? Thanks.

It is powered by the motor at the top. Then the spinning mechanism too.(For the spinning.) The tires under the ride help power it too.

It is not powered by the motor at the top. There isn't a motor at the top. The drive wheels on the ground are what produce the swing.

Isn't the "thing" at the top what makes it stop though? After watching the ride multiple times, that's how it appears to stop the gondola.

No, the tires stop it too, look at the tire speeds throughout the ride and you can see that they power the whole ride from start to stop.

The only thing that powers the swinging motion are the tires. Just like Jester's.

Next time you at the park watch either the tires underneath Revy or River Rocker, they are basically the same thing.

Think of Revolution as a lever, if you will. You need to apply less force to end of a lever if the lever arm is longer (from the pivot). So, it would require less force to power Revolution from the ground (end of the lever arm) than it would from the top (the pivot). Thus making it more efficient.

Speaking of Revolution, what happened to that sign that goes at the top? It was in the drawing, and Tomahawk at SFNE has one. Why didn't we put one up there?

I think the sign on the ride was just an artists rendition of the ride. I don't think there was ever to be a sign on the ride itself.

The only thing the top is used for is to make sure it stays in a straight swinging back and forth motion. It also keeps the ride from falling to the ground. The tires do all of the work on the ride (stars and stops it), except for the spinning.
