Think of Revolution as a lever, if you will. You need to apply less force to end of a lever if the lever arm is longer (from the pivot). So, it would require less force to power Revolution from the ground (end of the lever arm) than it would from the top (the pivot). Thus making it more efficient.
Speaking of Revolution, what happened to that sign that goes at the top? It was in the drawing, and Tomahawk at SFNE has one. Why didn't we put one up there?
The only thing the top is used for is to make sure it stays in a straight swinging back and forth motion. It also keeps the ride from falling to the ground. The tires do all of the work on the ride (stars and stops it), except for the spinning.
