Marriot's Great America pin

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I just came across something pretty neat and I want some input from some of you. My grandpa had a Marriott's Great America pin from 1975 and gave it to me because he knew of my love for theme parks and roller coasters. How much would something like this go for on Ebay?(Not that I am going to sell it.)

Also, Bugs Bunny is on it. Do you find it odd that he would be on it even though it is from before the park even opened? It's also from Warner Brothers, so was Great America ever planned to be owned and operated by Warner Brothers before Marriott's took over? Or was Marriott always in charge of the project?

Im just very puzzled. :? Thanks.

Marriott had Contracted WB for Bugs Bunny and Friends since the park opened.

I'm confused, Except for lots of licensing, Time Warner and Six Flags and Marriot, have never had anything to do with each other. Am I reading your post wrong? Sorry if I am.

Anyway, yes, they've always had looney tuens and Time Warner Characters.

I saw a name tag of Marriotts Great America on the site "Marriotts Great America Parks" and it didnt have a bugs bunny on there.

I saw a Tidal Wave pin on ebay before and it only sold for 75 cents. So its basically worth nothing.

It's is not a name tag.

It is a pin, that has The Great America logo(Marriott) and has Bugs Bunny with red, white, and, blue. The thing I find odd is that it says Warner Brothers 1975 on the bottom.

Also, SfGamFreak4Life, Tidal Wave was there until Batcame so that pin could be newer and not as common. I don't know.

Right. Marriotts purchased rights for the Looney Tunes character use in their theme parks. In 1984 Marriotts sold the parks. The Santa Clara park was not able to retain the Looney Tunes, because Marriotts Corp. sold the character rights to Six Flags (The City of Santa Clara operated that park for a time) Thus the transfer of the Looney Tunes rights to Six Flags (I believe this to be true)

And its only a coincidence that Time Warner ended up purchasing Six Flags from Bally's. Small world, huh?

I believe for a short time When Marriot Sold the park to Six Flags/Ballys till when Time Warner Purchased Six Flags, the Looney Tunes Characters were only at Six Flags Great America in Chicago.

The Tidal Wave pin was from 1978. For some reason I thought you guys would just figure it was. I know its Marriott's memorabilia but its just a pin so it wouldnt sell for much anyways. I did see a glass plate with Columbia on it from 1976 which sold for something like $25-$30. It looked pretty cool too but it wasnt something I really wanted though.
