SFGA opened first in 1976 by Marriott then was bought blah blah blah. But was is confusing is that in the year 2000 SFGA said it was their 25th aniversary. How can it be the 25th aniversary if it opened in 1976? Does anybody know why they did this?
Pretend they were operating from 1976 to 1980. Count out the years: 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980. There are 5 years. Even though 1980 minus 1976 equals 4, there are 5 years. The same thing goes with the year 2000, since 2000 minus 1976 equals 24, you need to then add one year (like before), and this makes 25. Hope this helps.

OHHHH THANK YOU THAT DOES HELP I WAS DOING IT WITH THE CALCULATOR AND IT CAME OUT 24 THANKX
The thing that really confused me with the 25 years thing was that they did it for two years. They called both 2000 and 2001 their silver season. They had that "Celebrate the Joy" parade for both years, and had the garage doors in Hometown Square painted for both years. I guess it was just some sort of marketing.
^ That is true, but the fact that it said "Silver Season" on the door and that it said "It's our anniversary" in the parade song, made it sound as if 2001 was their 25th.
