Whats now open and not open

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I went to SFGAm today (7/13). By now everyone knows about Deja Vu's "incident". So that means that Deja Vu is closed. Some good news for Deja Vu though. I did see workers trying to fix Deja Vu.

The wait has finally come to an end. Vertical Velocity is now open again.

(Don't ask why I typed Vertical Velocity instead of V2. Even I don't know).

Deja Vu vallyed (I don't know if I spelled that right) in its boomerang during a test run.

Here's a weird story. I went on monday afternoon (around 4) and Deja Vu was running just fine. It had a full line so I'd figure I'd wait till later. So I went back later and the line was REALLY short, like by the station, so I ran to the ride to find a worker with the "This ride will not open today" sign. By this time it was around 6ish. But they were still letting all the riders in the line ride. Then after that it closed for the rest of the night.

At least king chaos opened that night.

It was very, very short. Theres no locked inversion like there was before but it flipped a lot more and when it finishes it goes upside down right over the pond which is a cool effect. Basically it starts up, flips a couple times, then finishes. As I said, very short.

I find that very suspicious, KC opens the night D Vu closes. According to what CoasterDude04 said, it sounds like they want to make sure KC works properly before they open D Vu again. I don't think it's broke again, I just think they want KC to work like a flat should. Flats don't usually break, rollercoasters do.

You made no sense whatsoever. Why would they close DejaVu just to open King Chaos. That's not how it works. They obviously want to fix something on DejaVu, that's why there were workers on it yesterday. Not just to make King Chaos run correctly.

It does make sense. Look at all the problems that both rides have had. Do you really think the mechanics want to go back and forth every 15 minutes from KC to D Vu? Hopefully, once KC is working right, they wouldn't have to shut on down.

CoasterDude04 said that the sign said it will not be operating today even though people were on the ride. Does that make sense? They were still letting people on. Huh????

Maybe, they decided to close it when people were in the queue, but they still let those people ride.

...that's not the first time they've done that (actually quite a bit).

They put someone out at the entrance with a sign that says the ride will not open but the people that were in line get to ride.

Why did they do that?? My only guess is that they don't have enough employees to keep it open. For instance, this could have happened when Triple Play first opened along with Revolution (which was closed before), and KC.

...sometimes they'll do it when it's raining to keep the rides limited cycles in the rain (and they hope it lasts that long ;)).

I think part of the reason why they close it when it rains is because when you go up the second tower, rain come at you in your eyes. V2 is the same way.

No, that's not why. They close Vu when it is drizzling. Vu does not operate well in the rain, I guess and the chances of it valleying are probably greater.

I honestly don't think they care one bit about rain getting in our eyes. It probably has alot to do with how the catch system works. If its wet i'm sure its alot harder for the catch system to time when it needs to latch on, because the train will be going faster. Just speckulation of course, i don't know anything about how that thing really works.

I believe both theories. Rain, harder than drizzling is not good for your eyes especially on the 90 degree tower, and rain can add trouble to a rollercoaster especially with something as sophisticated as D Vu.

Does anyone know if it opened again and is everything else still open?

That's exactly what happened. But "Why?" is the question.

They sometimes operate it in the rain and when they do sometimes pull a will not open if they're expecting it to be down for the day.

Have you ever seen Vu cycle after rain? The first ones ALWAYS a miscatch.

I have seen Vu cycle after the rain (three or four times), I have never seen it miscatch though.
