A loss of power on V2 would cause no problems other than the the ride not compleating a full cycle. You really can't get trapped anywhere on V2 other than the brake run/launch stratch of track.
DeJaVu also does not have it's own generator, nor does V2. If every ride had it's own power generator it would cost millions and would be very impratical. The park probably has a backup generator that supplies backup power to the most critical parts of the park in the case of a power failure, but every ride generating it's own power? Think of it this way, if every ride had it's own generator it would mean that every ride would have it's own mini powerplant running off of gas or oil. Doesn't make much sense.
The power failure might of stopped the air compressor but I don't think that a lack of air pressure would cause the ride to valley. I believe that in the case of a pressure failure all the brakes lock up and the train would not enter the cobra roll.
I know that MM's Deja has been stuck in the Cobra Roll ( I believe Tom Crean - Traitor has a pic of it) But ours, i dont believe has ever been stuck in the roll itself
If D Vu does not have a generator, than what is that blue and green thing to the right of the station? How many millions does it cost to put up a roller coaster? (Please don't answer) If it's the only way to fix it, than it should be done. I don't call V2 or D Vu practical rides (great, awesome, but not practical).
To Timmy179:
It was stuck in between the loop and the cobra roll. I was actually there that day. They closed RB and all the other rides early because of that. They didn't have the platform underneath the loop like they do know, so it was really hard to take them off.
The last time it dad that was in mid 2002, thats insignificant now. I'm willing to bet the blue shed next to the station your talking about would be where the PLC controls are.
Meh, I'm going to Six Flags tomorrow, and I just hope V2 is open. It's one of my favorite coasters, and my friend who I am taking with me has never been on it yet. I would hate for her to miss out on it. =(
