Ride issues

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I noticed some things on a few rides my last couple trips. First was iron wolf the seat post was very loose almost as if it was not bolted tight.
Rode again three days later and it was pretty tight. Next was deja vu, usually it rides smooth to me, the last ride i had on it was a sunday when it was closed all day and re opened like around 5:30/6:00 pm. During the ride it seemed as if the wheel bearings were shot, sort of rough. Raging bull ive noticed some knocking in the train as it travels. One day i rode the second to the last row on the end and it was knocking bad like a wheel bearing was shot. Superman somtimes shakes and kinda freaks you out. Viper, regardless of rumors still have not had lap bar come up
i even pull on it the whole ride holds tight. Besides that all the above rides last year ran smooth just seems different this year. Anyone else notice these things.

B&M's vibrate, S:UF is no different if you sit near the back you will shake quite a bit at the bottom of the drop and during the pretzel.
The biggest 'issue' to me is the Emergency Drain Storm Access Tunnell. It's normally not bad but during summer when it's hot and humid it can get HORRID.

Two weeks ago I was on Raging Bull at night. I rode row 6 I believe. There was a knocking underneath my seat. It had to have been something with the wheels because it was actually hurting my butt after awhile.

Exactly kinda scary but i still ride. I notice all the trains knocking when standing in line. I wonder what it is. From being a machinist, to me it maybe a wheel is to tight against the track cause the knocking comes from when the train passes the track sections. especially after turns. If it was a wheel bearing you would definitly feel it on the drop when the train travels its fastest. The loose iron wolf seats are scary though especially when the next time you ride there tight.

Raging Bull has made that sound for the past 3 seasons, I wouldn't worry about it.

What do you mean Iron Wolf's seats are loose? If you mean that you have just a little up and down slack while riding, they are supposed to do that. They never have locked compleatly in place. With the maintnence that goes on in GAm, I'm sure that every ride is as safe mechanically as possible.

RB was rough during the second week but after that it has begun to become smoother each time i have ridden it.

Most likely that's a train difference.

I'm not worried about it, it just hurts after a nice long ride. :x

I'm not exaclty sure what causes it, but in that valley on Bull after the 4'th hill, where it goes below grade, the wheel carrages start shaking fairly violently, almost as if the track guage gets a bit thinner or something, that same thing causes that kinda vibration in a few places on the ride.

Still not of any concern really, been doing that since it opened.

I'm suprised no one mentions the "Eagle Hops" when the front car engauges the lift hill on Eagle :)

What i meant was not the seat or the harness but the posts they are mounted to they were loose and rocked left to right. I rode it later on and it was a lot tighter than before. But i never noticed a difference while riding.

It only does that once or twice though, second car on Demon it does that violently.

When I was younger that would always scare me on the Demon going up the lift. It always felt like the car came off of the track.

I guess I'm used to Demon doing that. Eagle seems like it almost comes off the track (which I know is impossible).

How about fixing the roped off seats!?!?!
Seriosley whats with this? S:UF has had 6 front row seats almost all year, a whole car has been roped off on B:TR for awhile, there is a row roped off on Demons red train though last I saw a shell was off so they may have been working on it, along with a bunch of other rides.

I agree. On B:TR on one train 2 seats in the back row are roped off because the padding was ripped off near the bars where you can place your hands if you feel so content .
