Looking on Google Maps you can see 2 paths in Hurricane Harbor, one in riptide bay and one over by the big wave pool which lead right into the parking lot. Now, my question is, If Six Flags Great America decides to expand Hurricane Harbor yet again and eat up more of the parking lot, can they drain the pond next to Superman and build a separate parking lot for the busses over there to make more room? I have no idea if that pond is even on Six Flags Property.
I heard that the parking lot water (when it rains) dumps into there.
Besides that, that's a beautiful picture. It almost looks fake.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Wow! I thought it was an animation. Superman must've been freshly painted. It would a very big project to drain it, so I don't think that would happen. As I said in the other thread, I really hope they decide to expand; if they do that pond would be a great place to build a coaster on, but that would mean clearing a lot of forest, and supports deep underwater. Any expansion going over there just seems very unlikely.
"Everyone, listen to me! These jerks killed Superboy. They've tried to kill us. Now they say they're going to tear this city apart. I say... like hell."

Speaking of the paint on Superman: UF, the yellow rails can use a paint job.

Upper left corner the pic was taken in 2005. Thats why it looks so brand new it was. And expansion over there could be a possibility. Drain the lake, dig a channel for runoff water, store it in a water tower, fill in the pond, pave and build. Its not an impossibility but a pretty costly possibility. And i dont think it would happen over the off season this great a project would take at least 5 years and realistically high estimate 25 million maybe more esp. if they put in a good multi looper Shockwave 2: Aftershock.
Yeah that is a real nice picture of Superman, hopefully 2014 brings a new paint job for both Batman and Superman (10 years for Batman 11 years for Superman) From this picture, it seems that Six Flags has every intention of expanding Hurricane Harbor again, If they ate up another large portion of the parking lot, I wonder what they would do to make up the lost spaces.
1. It is a man made pond made by Marriott as a retention pond and source of water for fires. If you look at some of California Great America picks, the same pond is there.
2. Neighbors backyards are right there on the other side of the pond. That is to close and something I am sure Gurnee would shoot down if SF wanted to expand there. The pond also acts as an unintentional buffer for the neighbors.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
