Well, I love the ride, but I just can't ride it comfortably. I am overweight, and whenever I ride, I have back and chest pain while on or off the ride. Anyone know how to have an enjoyable ride?
I myself hate the ride. It's too forceful for me, but that is just me. The front blacks me out all the time...and if I do ride it, I pick 5th, middle seat on left. Thats just me though...
That would mean a bruised rib muscle or worse a bruised lung. Depending on how tight your fit is on BTR (and Im an expert on tight fits on coasters) you may want to skip the ride until your sure you can fit a little less tightly on the ride.
As an overweight person myself, my advice is 2 things. One, go to a doctor if you have pains in case there is something more serious.
My second is watch how you ride. Sometime, rides will make an extra click is you hold onto the restraints. This can lead to an ultra painful ride. Holding onto the lapbar on Shivering Timbers lead to me bruised my midsection.
I think I'll give it a go (if it's line is reasonable) and try to keep my head back and my feet back so the forces don't exert to much on the torso. If not, I'll have a talk with SixFlags.
And the ride fits me, It just hurts me. I can easily say there are 5 clicks more once I click the harness.
If you are easily fitting in the ride, and are having chest pains, then something is wrong. I would consider seeing a doctor. No reason why this should be happening.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
Yeah, I'd have to agree. If you are feeling internal pains while riding any ride, you should consult your doctor. Now i'm heavier/bigger than I ever have been in my life and I'm starting a plan of my own to loose some weight, but no matter how tightly I have been crammed into a restraint on any ride, I've never had any internal sorta of pains. Some European flat rides with unusually tight restraints have put me in pain but it will always be for an obvious reason. Like on a KMG afterburner, one time not that long ago I had an overzealous ride op who thought he could fit anyone into the restraint. I told him not to worry about it but he insisted that I could ride and forced the restraint down to the point where me entire spine was digging into the padding of the ride, and as you know, padding on rides generally isnt all that padded. Well that was just enough to make the OTSR sensor happy and i had to endure that for a good 5 mins, which doesn't sound like long, but when you are in excruciating pain, it's an eternity. Or I just rode Revolution the other day and the OTSR was putting alot of pressure on my sternum which was quite uncomfortable. But when it gets down to having pains internally, no ride on this planet is worth causing yourself a serious injury or even death (if you have an undiagnosed heart condition or something like that). Even fitting on a ride and being in pain isn't worth it. I'd suggest that if medically possible loose weight, besides being healthier overall it would make for a far more enjoyable ride.

But I did get on BloodBath. and my back is KILLING ME! i seriously can't move it at all. I'm going to call SixFlags and ask them what to do in his case. I will most likely be seeing a chiropractor. ;(

Back pain I wouldn't worry about too much since that could be just a product of riding it. Chest pain, you should really see a doctor like Chitown and a lot of other people said. Lay off the coasters until you see one. I'm not sure on the actual stats, but that seems to be one of the top reasons people die at amusement parks; they overestimate what they can handle, or ride a ride that aggravates an unknown, pre-existing medical condition.
Seriously, don't ride until you get it checked out. I've been laying off the coasters because of some recent medical issues myself.
I think you need to see a doctor dude. It seems as if you are just finding excuses as to why not to see one because you are scared of what he will say.
Have a take and don't suck, it's the Jim Rome Show!

I'm "scared"? That he'll take my money to tell me to rest? Nope. That's not even why. I rode it last year when this happened. It's gone. I just wanted to know if it was a product of the ride, or a problem on my behalf.
You story has changed about 3 times in this thread. First you said your chest hurts after a recent ride on BTR, then you said your back, and now your claiming this happened last year.
This is really starting to get out of hand, and furthermore your not even heeding the advice people are giving you.
