That is horrific! How did the ride even stand?!
Are there any pictures of the Demon's rusting?

I don't think that's rust. That's corrosion.

Corrosion = Rust, Rust is just a form of Corrosion.

Demon has plenty of years left in it, as well as the trains. Each year the trains undergo rigorous NDT testing of all of the welded joints and main support members. Any defects are then ground flat, re-welded, and reinspected.

Oh and Suf03sfgam you can stop laughing now.... I know I know...

Thank you sir!! I love how everyone is a professional.. Now I have a question for a licensed engineer.. What happens to rubber when it gets cold? You know like the rubber that might or might not be used for suspension on Arrow and Vekoma looping roller coaster trains..

The rubber that may/may not be used in the suspensions becomes extremely hard and brittle, and it does shrink to a marginally smaller size.

But you already knew that....

ding ding ding.. Now your suspension is hard and doesn't compress like it should and I would think that you have a rougher ride. Am I wrong??

Exactly what I thought!

But on to the topic: Wasn't there a track piece replaced about four years ago? I thought I heard there was a lot of rust damage, and it was falling apart.
