Ride Specs

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Is there a website(s) somewhere that have specs on the rides at Great America? Or some neat clever/odd facts about the rides? Stuff like how tall American Eagle is, when it was built, who built it, how fast it goes, stuff like that, but for all the rides or at least the roller coasters.

Roller Coaster Database ( http://www.rcdb.com ) is a good source when it comes to the roller coasters. With the flat rides it is a crap shoot on where to find info.

I have the official fact sheet from American Eagle if you want those..

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

greatamericaparks.com has a lot of good info on some of the flat rides, but it only focuses on the parks during the Marriott era so the more recent rides will not be in there.

If anybody needs to know anything about any ride at SFGAm, with an exception of some of the kiddie area rides, I got the resources to look up a lot of the info. Works for most parks and carnivals also. With a manufacturer name I can find out about it :)

Well basically, if someone mentions a ride I can usually figure out who made it just by looking at it. With that info I can go to the manufacturers website and look up all the necessary info. Also I got quite a few ride manuals on a CD for older rides. Really the only rides I cant look up are rides by King Manufacturing from back in the 30's-60's, and some oddball Japanese/Chinese manufacturers. Also some pre 1995 Intamin rides can be hard to look up, since a lot of the companies that designed and manufactured for Intamin are long gone.
