2009 Parking Pass Questions

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

It's been a few years since I have been to Great America. The last time I went was before they had "preferred" parking. I have a few questions hopefully someone on here can help me out with.

In years past, you were able to purchase parking and credit that amount to a parking pass. If I were to purchase preferred parking will they credit the full $25 to the pass or only $15?

With the parking pass, is it only general parking or does it allow you to park in preferred parking as well?

Is the parking pass still a sticker that goes on your season pass or have they changed to a car window sticker like other six flags parks have? (or something else?)

And on a slightly unrelated note.. The last year I went they had just "reopened" the "secret back entrance" by American Eagle. I notice earlier in the year, the detour signs directed you to that back entrance (since the off ramp on southbound I94 Grand Ave exit is closed). Is it now easier to go to the main entrance instead? I always used the back entrance because it rarely had much of a line. Is it worth going to the back entrance still?

If you go to the park today you have some options.
1. Pay for the parking pass ($70) at the parking booth.
2. Pay for General Parking (the back lot) for $15.
3. Pay for General Plus Parking (the lot closest to the park) for $25.

Now if you choose 2 or 3 and still want to buy a parking pass, take your receipt with you to the season pass processing center. There you can buy the parking pass ($70) minus what you paid today ($25 or $15).
So you would pay an additional $45 or $55 for the pass.

Now the parking pass is actually printed on ONE person's pass. So you have to decide who's pass you want it on (person who goes the most).

Washington Road Entrance is open since HH open in 2005 late in season. Great route to use fast and easy. If you see a line of cars to under the eagle. It's about a 15 min wait to get in lots. At the start of the day 2 lanes are open just stay left to get quicker. Flash your Season Parking pass or pay and head right in.

Why we pay more in parking $70? We are allow in the preferred lot if you go to any other Six flags park you will be general lot but preferred lot is smaller then SFGa Section.

Even the Value Booklet is pushing to use the back entrance.

You are chancing to go in the back way. The reason I say this is because they only have 2 people with 1 booth. In the other way, they have maybe 6 or 8 people!! One time I went in the back way, and I had to wait quite a bit because I thought it was going to be empty. It had to be longer than the front one. On top of it, they are telling people to go in that way through construction signs, so it's going to be worse this year than ever before in the back not so secret entrance anymore.
