Im not sure if that is a buy out though. All you really get it the picnic area. It will be a regular operating day but you will just get that.. Correct me if I am wrong.

I say no because the ERT is probably going to be limited to a couple coasters, and they are probably going to be Viper, Eagle, and Raging Bull. I don't care for those, so no.

From whatl ive seen on the web, the West Coast Bash wasnt a buyout of the entire park, just a event at the park.

Im sure 700 guests at $30 per person wouldnt cover the costs of having a buyout of the park for the entire saturday.

They did get morning and evening ERT,t-shirt, along with food and a walk back to the new Terminator Coaster among other goodies. Its hard to beat 2 horus of ERT on every coaster in the park being run in the dark.

There are no details yet on what the ACE day at the park will provide, but im pretty sure it wont be comparable to the west coast event.

There is no way this group could afford anything like renting out the picnic grove. for the picnic grove there is like a $1500 deposit paid a month in advance, and I think there is a minimum of like 50 or 100 people. One single ride for one hour for ERT can be anywhere between $300-$700 depending on the park, and for SFGAm I'd assume it'd be closer to if not over the $700 mark.

I wanted to bring this up. did anyone else see the coupon in the season pass coupon book for ''season pass holder appreciation night'' ? it is on friday september 18. it says each pass holder can bring a friend for $14.99. this is for an entire day.
also the coasters after dark dates are,
friday june 12...................9:00pm-11:00pm ( DO NOT go to this one because this is the day all gurnee grade schools get out for the summer, and most of the kids have passes, and will go this date)
thursday july 9...................10:00pm-12:00am
wednesday, august 12...........9:00pm-11:00pm

Maybe you could get ACE (The American Coaster Enthusiasts) to sponsor the event. I think it would be great and i would definately be in but how would that work for season pass holders as I have 1?? Maybe even a local radio station possibly Kiss 103.5 or b96 96.3 something with a large audience, In fact maybe there would be a way to use 103.5 and their sister stations 93.9 95.5 and V103. this way you could get like 4 or five stations in on it.

I know the West Coast Bash wasnt a ACE event, but when you see the quality of that event for the price paid as compared to a typical ACE day at a park it makes you wonder why ACE which has been around much longer than TPR/Ridweworld cant put on a event for the same price/quality.
You would think ACE would have park contacts as good as the web sites and be able to broker a deal better than they do for the regional events they put on.

ACE used to put on the best events anywhere at great prices. Then the EC started changing, and it is what it is now, events are way overpriced, especially for non members, they are extremely poorly planned, most woodie ERT has been in the AM recently, cause everyone knows that's the time to ride them. And on top of that membership fees have been going up. I dropped out of ACE as soon as I saw this start to happen like back in 03 or so. Also alot of really weird stuff is going on right now that I wont get into detail right now, but it's along the lines of one of ACE's founding members being asked to step down from the EC, dropping the museum, and lots of other stuff.

As for ACE sponsoring the event, ACE has a strict policy, if you are not in ACE you don't get in at member prices, unlike GOCC, NAPHA, WNYCC, etc who invite members of any and all coaster clubs in at member prices.

Some new developments in a possible ERT event, and by that I mean none whatsoever. The last email I sent included all of the questions that we wanted answered.
I would like a little more information about group sales and possible ERT on rides. I'm currently seeing how many people would be interested in some kind of group session at Great America (30 people so far) and a couple of questions arose that I would like cleared up. How many people would be needed to get an hour or two of ERT before the park opened? How much would everyone have to pay? What if people have a season pass? Could they get in for free or could they pay a discounted fee? Hopefully you'll take the time to answer these questions for me. Thank you in advance.

NONE of the questions were answered. The PR sent my email to Group Sales where they told me ERT is scheduled by their Account Executives. Group Sales just sent me the usual group packages that they offer. But the problem is that this isn't a normal group outing. Any ideas?

They probably havent replied because your wasting their time.

How much would everyone have to pay? What if people have a season pass? Could they get in for free or could they pay a discounted fee?

They do ERT/picnic grove events for groups of hundreds which either a big company pays for or large groups who actually are spending real money. A group of 30 season passholders isnt going to happen.

Actually they DID reply, but with no answers. And don't forget that this probably wouldn't only be limited to SFGAm World but anyone else who would want to join in including their friends and family. I just don't see why they wouldn't want to make money no matter how big or small the group is. If more people are needed for ERT, why wouldn't they tell us the number so that we might find that many people?

Kinda. I talked with the park and they usually offer ERT for large groups over 1,000 and even then they usually only open one section of the park. I know West Coast Bash had 700 people this year and the first year they did it they had way less people than that. The best advice the park gave me was figure out what they did to start an event. Not much else we can do right now.
