Something I noticed about S:UF

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby coasterguy on March 8th, 2003, 12:23 pm
well if you go to Six Flags Over Geogia's homepage, and then go to S:UF's page, it say that there Superman: Ulitmate Flight is 3:00 long as well , so I think Roller Coaster Database is wrong.

Well to talk about X-Flight, Shockwave was kind of a parking lot coaster, not completely because of the small islands of grass like where the station was and where the boomerang was.
It's not how high or how fast you build the roller coaster it's how smooth you build it!

It's the database of all rollercoasters! It can't be wrong... as coaster enthusiasts, that site is our "Bible!"

It wouldn't, there must have just been some miscommunication somewhere...

... that will hopefully be fixed sometime soon but knowing the Six Flags website, and 3 names given to one certain coaster in Ohio, we will never know how long until this miscommunication will be fixed.

It may be 3 minutes if you count the loading which is one of the longest I have ever seen...

Was it really necessary to resurrect a 5 year old thread just to say that?

Better than starting a new one...and besides it is nice to look at older posts and hear those comments to see how the park has changed, how many people are still here and what is the point of keeping these 5-year posts if you are never going to look at them again.

Well S: UF hasn't really changed any since it was first built, and if you want to see the people who are here look at the member list and see their most recent post. There is a reason this thread hasn't been commented on - people lost interest five years ago.

There are some cool things you can find on older posts like the link in this thread shows you a picture of Superman at Great America that definitely gives you a nice look back at when it was first being brought in and how things have changed. Not 100% sure but Deja Vu looks misplaced a bit in that picture. I think it is towards the top of this thread. Anyway, if everyone expects me to not reply to older posts why bother keeping so many? if 5 years seems like a lot why not keep just the ones from the past 2-3 years? I think they are there for a reason. Besides, it is so hard to actually start a topic on this forum without it being locked or deleted this actually helps conversations going without talking about the same 3-4 topics at the very top of the page.

Really?!?!? Wierd. :? Funny thing, I've never had a topic locked or deleted. I didn't realize it was such an uncommon skill to actually post meaningful stuff on a forum

How many topics have you started recently? That is beside the point. These old posts are here still so instead of replying to the same ones everyone else does and have it unnecessarily reach hundreds of posts I look for topics that I can add my 2 cents that maybe someone else (including me) never got the chance to read and reply in the first place. Whatever. Nobody gets it.

3 sounds better than 2 which is why the parks website/press release says 3. The rides clearly not 3 minutes long. Unless someone wants to sue them for false advertising about adding 1 minute to make the ride sound better they will keep doing it .

No one else here (ok fine, maybe 2% of all posters) care about topics that have been dead for 5 years. Also, in this case, the post you made was pointless. Seriously, digging up a 5 year old topic wondering whether Superman is 2 minutes or 3 minutes. If that really is so interesting, take a stopwatch with you on opening day, then we can settle this topic once and for all. Otherwise, let it die.

If you don't have anything to add why are you posting here? I just so happen to frequently look at older topics and this one caught me eye. I've mentioned it before how slow the loading at SUF is and it is one of my fave rides. Nothing new has been added to this forum for a while and you can only reply to the same topics for so long.
