The ride doesn't need restraints. At no point would the ride eject you from the train due to negative G-Forces, infact the only way to fall out of this ride is to jump out of the train. The seatbelts were added as a liability.

This is the case for many smaller roller coasters out there.

Tigrr at IB runs, or at least Ran without seatbelts up until last year at least. No word on that, but I cant see many owners continuing that though. That even has a minor pop of airtime or 2.

Anyone else think that Whizzer needs a new lift?

No. The lift is fine the way it is. If they did change the lift, they would need to redo the cars as well. And if they did that, it just wouldn't be Whizzer anymore.

As far as I have been told as I obviously wasn't alive at the time but the Whizzer could send trains as soon as everyones butts were on their seats. As you will see in the photos that are going to be linked in this post Whizzer used to run by fitting two trains on the lift hill at one time.

Marriott's was all about capacity, well Six Flags is too but it's always safety first.

Can't seem to view that picture link. I never knew Whizzer use to run with 5 trains. That seems a bit much for some reason to me and very un-safe. Now Whizzer just runds with 3 or 2 trains right?

It runs up to three now, but back in the day, when in five trains, they often bumped into each other, not hard, but slightly.
