Yeah, I see this forum as a forum for information...not personal chating, arguments, or a place to hang out. I think its cool and all to have active posters on here, but honeslty...if you are on here posting all day to increase your post count....you need a life!
I find myself reading less and less because of the overflow of pointless (16 and under fanboys) talking about usless ideas, opinions, and topics.
If you are that desperate to hang out online find a site that is ok with "P-Dubbing" and a place where you can "hang out" all day online.
Like mentioned before....AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Myspace, do the trick just fine.
Great post woodland.
These kind of behaviors don't just happen here and it seems to becoming more prevalent throughout the message board communities of various types.
I help moderate a pyrotechnics (fireworks) hobbyist board and we have some of the same problems with people "hijacking" threads, turning things political or doing some of the things you mentioned that don't really add to the discussion.
I would suspect that some of the problems here have to do with the age of some of the posters, no disrespect intended. But, rules can be taught to anyone of virtually any age.
I would hope that just pointing out the rules and what's been done wrong would solve most of the problems and we can continue on discussing SFGAm. If not, well, the mods will do what the mods have to do to correct things.
Thats why I check this forum like once a month now, I can't even discuss an issue or topic because by page 2 of the responses its completely off topic or the same 2 people have posted the last 10 things. So i agree with that completely woodland.
