Hmmm, I never saw that. I must say though, it would have been a great place for an ad. People in their cars rubbernecking at the coasters all the time.

It really is. When you think about it, the biggest selling point that a theme park has going for it is the fact that its an escape from the real world into a fantasy land where you can't die (usually) and all your favorite Looney Tunes characters come to life. When the first thing you see in this get away is a Billboard for Geico, it begins to ruin the experience.
I for one thought that the park had a completely different feel this year than last. Less theme park, more state fair. I know the famous music is supposed to add to the family friendlyness (is that a word?) of the park, but I think that has killed the parks specific areas of theme.
I don't mind the small signs of advertisments while waiting in line for the coasters, cause lets be honest, they never had any theming to the lines anyway. And its cool for the GP to see little facts about the coasters they never knew about before. But while on the Midways and all I can see are street signs for advertisers it gets to be a little much. There is a tasteful, non obtrusive way of doing thing. Billboarding your coasters isn't that way.

I believe it was moved from Eagle to Viper because the city of Gurnee does not allow billboards, and because of it's size, and it's proximity to the highway, it was considered one. Or so I am told.
Edit: Sorry, didn't notice that someone already said it.
Mark Shapiro said in an interview with Robb Alvey of TPR that the bluetooth capability with Six Flags Media can get you to the front of the line if you answer trivia questions correctly. Sounds like something I'll be taking advatage of!
I gotta say, when he talks it makes me excited. His energy is outstanding! Even if it's fake, it's well done, he may not give a crap, but he makes it sound like he does, he sounds excited about the brand, and it makes me exctied about the brand. Interesting that they are talking about five year plans, now is that from 06? the first year of the takeover, or from now? Because it seems like five year plans will be good for all the parks. I mean look where SFGAm's ten year plan got us. Some of the best additions to the park from 95-05, and it's gotten even better since.
between 99 and 05 SFGAm had no master plan, Corperate would decide each year what each park was getting. Time Warner used 5 years plans, it's the best way to go.
And a 5 year plan is a 5 year plan, as in they know what they are doing 5 years from now. last year they had some idea what they were doing 5 years from then, and next year they will know what's happening 5 years out, there are no fixed dates
