Wow, im dissapointed demon drop is up for grabs. When i went there last week for the first time we went on it as a joke cause it was a walk on and it was soooo freaky! We re-rode 6 ore times that day.
SOOO much fun.

Well, you start sitting backwards and you are pushed into and elevator like lift. It lifts you up very quickly, stops you very quickly as well. Every once and a while at the top of the shaft you will get an airtime pop when you stop. Then it pushes you out... Holds you for half a second, drop, roll onto your back then wheeled onto a gadget that pulls your but down. (reverse superman) and you are wheeled back into the station.
VERY fun ride.

Are the freefalls still running, or dismantled?
When I was at GL, it was working back in May?? I had no desire to go on it though. They will probably dismantle it right when it is sold. The rule of thumb has always been that it easier to take things down instead of being put up.
Not to resurrect an old topic, but I'm new to this site! The Edge just might be my all time favorite Great America ride. The newer generation drop towers are fun, too, but there's no experience like the first generation Freefalls like the Edge! If you want to ride the Edge, you can also go to Six Flags Over Texas- they have the first one ever built, and it's identical to the Edge, except for color scheme. It's called Wildcatter and I just rode it a month ago, in April 2007. I told my 9 year old son all about the Edge, and it was awesome riding it with him- he loved it even more than our old Tidal Wave (Greezed Lightnin), that he got to ride last year at kentucky Kingdom. I miss Edge so much!!! BTW, thanks for correcting the misinformation about the accident on the Edge- that whole incident was blown out of proportion, and led to the Edge being removed a couple years later. A girl actually did die after riding Raging Bull, and thankfully, the media didn't make a big deal out of that. A few kids suffered minor injuries on the Edge, and they still talk about it to this day!
Since tillenterprises did bring up this topic, I figured it would be a good idea to point out that BOTH URL's mentioned above no longer work.
Looks like they could be rather important, and for them not to work could be a bad thing, espcially since tillenterprises is a new member (only 3 posts). Maybe someone should fix these?
Actually, Demon Drop was scheduled to be closed and sold for the 2006 season, and it never sold and decided to keep it because of park guests requests, i remember seeing it in one of Cedar Point Blogs on there website
