Johnny Rockets

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I love Panda Express at Great America! It's like 8 bucks for a full meal which isn't bad at all. The food is usually of pretty decent quality too. They actually have a name to represent and care about unlike any other food place at Six Flags where they couldn't care less about food quality and satisfaction. I'd like to see more semi-independently run restaurants open within Great America so they'd actually have to compete with each other for quality food. Not like it is now where everything just pretty much sucks.

Johnny Rockets has very good food, with a lively 50's-style atmosphere. There is a JR at Old Orchard in Skokie. My partner and I go there every once in a while. Burgers are made to order, as is everything else. There are jukebox stations at the counter and in the booths, and you can play a song for a nickel! They have phenomenal shakes and malts, and will flavor any soda pop with lemon, cherry, or vanilla syrup. Remember when the Hometown Grill did this during the Marriott years? This is missed greatly by me, and it would be great to have this back with JR. The prices are higher than average, but worth it for the quality. The best spot at Great America for a full-service JR would be the Bourbon Street in Orleans Place, a food venue that has lost its way for many, many years. It has indoor seating, outdoor seating, and room to grow if needed. This would take a lot of time, but would be worth it in the long run. I will definitely welcome this venue at Great America! :D
We should all remember to be thankful to have a world-class theme park like Six Flags Great America here in our local area!

IF we do get one I do not know how well themed it would be. since it most likley would not be a full service joint. If we do get one, I could see one being put in Hometown Square or Farmers Market where are the shops are generally nutral. Plus If its an express its a prfect place to put one since we already have a burger joint.

County Fair seems like the worst place to put a JOhnny Rockets since it is supposed to be themed to early 1900's and if you put a JR in that section it would be the equivilant of Disney putting an antique shop in Tomorrowland. I don t know about the rest of you thats just me.
I really think that Yummy Yummy Cafe is going in Wascles place it makes better sense. Thats why I was so against it before.

coasterfan71555: Where was Hometown Grill? Never knew that existed. Obviosuly its in Hometown Square but where?
There were alot of shops that was closed.

^ The Hometown Grill was replaced by the Funnel Cake place in front of Whizzer.

Johnny Rockets would be much worse in Hometown Square than in County Fair. Hometown is also to the early 1900's and so far, that theme is very largely in tact.

Johnny Rockets will be replacing Wascals. The Yummy Yummy Cafe will be replacing Bleachers (The place under the tent where Eagle used to exit).

I just do not like the fact that they are putting a Johnny ROckets in a park that is themed 1900's. It just does not make sense.
Unless its the truth that they are not going to theme it in any way to make not look wierd.

It is themed to america...The myth of "Leave it to Beaver" "I love lucy" veiw of the 50s is just as much of a myth as , for example, poseidon down at IOA. It seems like a perfect thing for an Ameican Themed park to me.

i like the idea of putting Johnny Rockets in Wascals spot. i was never really impressed with the food at that place. I can't wait for this to open. I'll definetly be going there several times, whether my friends want to go or not.

Yes, Mooseburger is not going anywhere at this time. It is possible that another licensing deal could happen and it'd be replaced.

^I hope it stays Mooseburger Lodge. As for the food, I really think it should be different from the rest of the park.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Does anyone know what's up with Crazy Buffalo Saloon? It says its rented to groups for private outings and special events.

quote

from article " The picnic grove and the Crazy Buffalo Saloon are rented to groups for private outings and special events, and there are requests for mixed drinks up to 10 times a year, Costa said."
