The article talks about a theme park in Ill. that owns the gallows that was used to hang people in Cook Co. in the early part of the 20th Century.
They are now putting the gallows out for auction, and wouldnt this be a good addition to SWT, you could put it outside the spinning cups ride, and could be used for good effect for FF.
Of course, they do already have one. They put it up every Fright Fest. Now, it's by that water shooting game with some scarecrow in it. Before, it used to be Viper.

Is that the guy that wiggles every once in a while?
It used to be stored behind the SW Ampitheater. If anyone takes a ride on eagle, try looking possibly back there, but its probably gone by now.
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
The gallows by Trailblazer is permanent, its always there and is part of the SWT theming.
The gallows used for Fright Fest were behind the Amphitheater but I think they have been taken apart. There were complaints that the show was morbid and not acceptable.
The winning bidder was the owner of Ripley's Believe it or Not. They got the winning bid and it will most likely be placed in one of the Ripley's museums not yet built.
Yep, ripleys bought the gallows, but I was thinking a nice additon for SWT, with Trailblazer up in the air right now, and the small plot of vacant land next to it, that makes for a relatively long and narrow strip, would be perfect for something like a ferris wheel. Say a Vekoma 150 footer like SFKK or a Ronald Bussink R40 or R50 (Bussink is probably the higher quality)
http://www.giantrides.com to see the bussink line of wheels, which for north american sales is being manufactured by Chance Morgan, a R60 just opened at Niagara Falls fabricated by chance morgan.
Just a thought

^Actually, and I was having a conversation with a couple others, is to have a Sally Dark ride themed to the Wild West in the spot of Trailblazer if it is removed.
That is something SFGAm lacks (dark ride) and would be a great family attraction.
Of course a ferris wheel lacks also at SFGAm, but you could throw one of those anywhere in the park.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I think a dark ride would be a better fit in Mardi Gras, put it in, or build it where the near totally unused Cirque Electrique Arcade is now though all it is inside is storage for games.
