I don't know about you guys, but when I'm about to go to Six Flags, I'm always petrified about how the weather will turn out. Are you like that, or am i just...ya know..
Yeah, I used to be that way. I used to pray the night before for decent lines and no rain. However, now, since my two favorite times there were during that EXTREMELY crowded day during fright fest last year and one pouring rain day during a buyout, i just make the best with what i got. It's easier with a season pass, though.

I used to get nervous, checking the weather every hour of the week ahead of time. Once I got a season pass and went more than 5 times a year it gets to be less of a big deal. Also, when it rains, or the forcast even calls for rain, it makes for a really dead park. Saturday was amazing, granted it was opening day, but most of the rides were open in the rain, there was no wait for them, and they ran faster and smoother than ever! Sometimes an hour of heavy rain or two is worth it to clear the park out. Aside from this, I'm extremely nervous about the weather in a few weeks when I go to cedar point. I'll have 2 days there and this will be my first time there and probably my last for many years.
I never really because you could always just find something to do in the park even when theres bad weather some rides could still be open and they do have some really good shows you can enjoy and movies in the pictorium or you could just ride the space shuttle or chubasco, bumpercars the only indoor rides I know in the park thats indoor they need more indoor coaster or a shoot em up ride like MIB in Universal that would be nice to ride on a bad weather day at GA.
i actually like the bad weather, that means less people there, which means shorter lines....and i agree with what rb1 says. the Toonite show was cute..
Your favorite day was on that extremely crowded day during Fright Fest??? Why would anyone say that???
Now just because you pray for decent lines doesn't necessarily mean it will happen. Just imagine praying the night before Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka opened, or that the ride will never break down in its lifetime. I don't think the results will turn out like we'd expect.
I agree it can be petrifying if you are buying a ticket for a particular day in advance. That's why we have The Weather Channel. If the forecast predicts Sunny, it's almost likely gonna turn out like that. How many times have they said "Rain, Rain" and we end up with a drought. NOAA Weather radio predicted showers and thunderstorms years ago and we ended up with the drought of 2002, and it affected most of the Midwest and Great Plains.
Let's hope that this next weekend will be an improvement over the letdown we had this past weekend.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

I liked that fright fest day because I went in all of the haunted houses for the first time, i got on Demon with it's amazing scenery, i was with most of our prom group so it was a nice reunion, the day was beautiful, and overall, first time at fright fest is always a beautiful thing!!!

See now, I don't mind rain and such... but I DID buy my season pass at noon on sunday with the intent of getting into the park and processing it before the end of the day, maybe hitting a few rides. But it CLOSED because of bad weather, which barely ever happens, but it did. It made me sad a little, but it's something that would only ever happen really early in the season, so I'm not overly depressed about it.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

I love those crowds. Its funny watching people go crazy at long lines and then fights breaking out. Sure you dont get on many rides, but when you have a season pass you dont have to go just for rides.
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
Before I had a season pass, I would get scared of ths issue. Now, I don't really care, although since I started driving, I won't want to waste the gas. But, bad weather means shorter lines, and if it's a light rain, the coasters are really fun, and walk-ons! If weather is really bad, I usually head to Gurnee Mills.

Yeah the crowds on fright fest are a nice reason to just do all of the haunted houses instead. I never even really thought about doing them until we realized all lines were packed. And then that trip in which we did all the haunted houses was probably one of my best trips.
