The Demon Tunnels

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby adian_zix on May 9th, 2006, 11:35 am
Is everyone able to access this?

http://cpe-65-25-185-174.wi.res.rr.com:2711/jcpics/brian/MGAParksPhotos//MGA_Demon.mp3

It just comes up as "not found" when i try.

I would really LOVE to have a copy of that song.

It COULD be that the system here at work (yes i'm getting paid to search for a roller-coaster theme song!!! ha ha ha!!) is "blocking" the link or something. But it looks more like it's no longer there.

Suggestions?

Great site, everyone. Lots of great info and insight!

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

They don't play all of that in the queue now. They definitely don't have talking to all those people. Some of that stuff is completely stupid!! I like the parts they have at the park.

They still play the entire Demon soundtrack in the queue still.

The lights in the Demon tunnel are all off.

^Chances are they were just off.

It's not a big deal or anything.

Just well, they don't need to be on.

The Demon tunnel lighting system is done for, the cost of maintaining the lighting system has gone out of control.

Why would that cost a lot of money to maintain the lights in the tunnel?

I know back in the day guests used to throw stuff and break them.

I dont really mind them being off..It was a nice effect but im sure the original lighting effect was better.

Maybe the park should consider switching to LED lights. Ther're small enough that if one gets broken they shouldnt be noticed and they never burn out.

An LED tunnel would be costly but amazing! You could do anything quite easily with the walls then. I'd be easy to have plexiglass covering the LEDs too.

Plus, when they're closer together it could add a much better effect than the swirling that it had in the Marriott days and the effect it had now. They could program it to be like you've entered a firestorm tunnel or something. A plexiglass cover wouldnt be a bad idea either.
