No Limits v1.5,My Rating!

Talk about RCT 2, RCT, No Limits, Hyper Rails, Scream Machines or any other Rollercoaster related game here.

Hey Everyone:

Late last night the new No Limits version 1.5 was release. After
months and months (and 1 day) of delay, it finally was released.
For those of you who have No Limits and downloaded it, what do
you think?

Well, for me, It wasn't worth the wait. "Why" do you ask? Well,
lets look at some of them. I will rate the update by a letter grade.

Graphics: A+ (100%)
Comments: As usual the graphics in the Simulator are impressive.
Very smooth and neat.

Number of Coaster Types; A+ (100%)
Comments: The more coaster types, the better. There is a great
number of styles that you can do.

Type of Coasters: C (75%)
Comments: I usually only design B&M style coasters so, not seeing
a B&M flyer lowers the grade. The designers know that people want
the 4D and the B&M flyer, but they add in the LIM and the Motorbike
into this update. In my opinion, I could careless for those styles. I
would have rather seen them give the public what they want and
add in the 4D and the Flyer.

Breaking Sections: D+ (68%)
Comments: The only reason why this section gets such a "high"
rating is, that the Hyper 2 Seat and the Impulse Coasters breaking
sections are awesome, but the rest suck. Of course they do a bad
job with B&M styles.

Coaster Editor: A (95%)
Comments: I've always liked the NL Editor portion of the software.
Nice, clean and easy to use. So, why not give it an A+? Well, I would
have liked to have seen them impliment a better way to choose
Coaster Elements, such as Loops, Zero G's, etc. Pretty much, you have
to do what we've always done. Click a element, hope that it will be ok,
and just use trial and error until it works correctly. So, knock off 5%.
I would have added a section where you could view the Element, before
you insert it. That way you know exactly what you are inserting.

Release Information and Timing: F (0%)
Comments: It was supposed to be released in May. Now, I'm not
a software programmer nor a designer, but I do know computers
very well. If I was the designer, I wouldn't have told people a date
until I knew for sure, when it would be done. The information that
was given on Release Dates sucked. First May, then June, then
September 28th, then of course the usual "Minor issues", then it's
released late night. Like I said, they should not have given a release
date, until they knew exactly when it would be done. That way
people wouldn't become impatient.

OVERALL: C (73%)
Final Comments: It's the Release information and timing that gives it
an average rating. If they would have released it On Time, then it would
have got a A- rating. Overall, it really wasn't worth the wait. I do wish
that they did work on the B&M coasters a little bit more.

My Ideas for NoLimits v2.0
-New Coaster Styles: 4D and B&M Flyer (Have been confirmed to be
on the 2.0 version. Check out http://www.nolimitscoaster.de for more info.
-Improved Graphic work on B&M Coasters.
-Station Customizer with Double Loading Option
-Droping Floors for Floorless and Inverted Coasters
-Car Texture Designer

Thanks for listening to my comments on the new NoLimits v1.5!!
Remember these are my COMMENTS and OPINIONS!

I have never really been interested in No Limits before. I think I should go and check it out so I can make a valid response to your post. Would you reccomend the original game?

you buy the original and then download the patches. you should only have to download one, though, as I believe 1.3 is now the full release.

the things that they re-did look absolutely amazing. the brakes all rock as does the new Intamin hyper track. I haven't checked out many of the other new features, but I'm also kinda disappointed that they didn't re-do the brakes for the other coaster types. I'm sure they'll get around to it in the next update.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

I've never played No Limits before but I've seen pictures of it. The graphics I really didn't care for. But of course that could have just been the picture.

I'm thinking about getting the Backup CD for No Limits. The only reason I would get this if my computer were to crash, I had to do a clean install of Windows, and then download the game again, but then also have to pay again. (Or do you pay for a registration code that you enter during installation?)

if you lose your copy of the game, you can just e-mail Ole and they'll send you a link to download the full version again. you have to give them some info, though. you can back it up yourself, though. just take the install file and burn it to a disc.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Although, if you have to provide a registration code, will it assume that you've already installed it, and are trying to install it on a different computer (think iTunes authorization)?

NL doesn't care how many systems you put it on. I remember back when it first came out, somebody made a post on a message board about how they saw it on kazaa.
