[RCT3] Six Flags Connecticut Kingdom - The Final Update

Talk about RCT 2, RCT, No Limits, Hyper Rails, Scream Machines or any other Rollercoaster related game here.
Postby RollingCoasting on July 7th, 2016, 2:20 am
Here's my new RCT3 Project, hope you enjoy! (Don't worry, no construction updates this time.)

Heage Lake Opening Day
(Part 1)

Shot0591.png

I've been waiting to visit this park since it was announced last September. My name is Jacob Karse, and I'm a friend of both owners and creators of the park, Mike Heage and James Calico.

Shot0592.png

This wooden coaster is supposedly one of the park's star attractions. We'll see if it lives up to the hype.

Shot0593.png

This Arrow Dynamics Looping Coaster looks like a fun ride.

Shot0594.png

The park's ticket sales building had an empty line. This picture was taken right as the park opened, at 7:00 A.M. (Yes, 7:00 A.M.)

Shot0595.png

Here's a shot of the pond in the park's Main Gates section.

Shot0596.png

"Gary's Grub," an eatery located in Main Gates.

Shot0597.png

This is the Guest Relations and Lost and Found Center.

Shot0598.png

The entrance to the Connecticut section of the park.

Shot0599.png

The park's Ferris Wheel ride.

Shot0601.png

A view of the mid-way from Swingset's queue line

Shot0602.png

EXpress Cafe, a food court in Connecticut featuring: Wendell's (Steakhouse), Uncle Dave's Barbecue, Heage Ice Creamery, and Pizza Factory.

Shot0606.png

The other half of the mid-way

Shot0608.png

The next section I visited was Pontchartrain Bay.

Shot0609.png

Orleans Grille

Shot0610.png

Orleans Park, a kiddie area.

Shot0611.png

Pontchartrain Cafe, Orleans Subs, and Sky Wheel.

More to come later!

Here's part 2. Sorry, I was going to post it around 12:00, but the page reloaded and I lost all my progress about half way through. :x
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shot0612.png

The pond/mini lake in Pontchartrain Bay.

Shot0613.png

Some bathrooms and Sky Wheel.

Shot0614.png

I left Pontchartrain Bay to see the other side of the park. I rode Connecticut Twister (The park's RCOA woodie) on the way back.

Shot0615.png

The park's kiddie coaster, J.R. Twister, also in Connecticut.

Shot0616.png

The entrance back to Main Gates. (The park currently does not have a direct passage way to the other side of the park besides crossing the Main Gates section.)

Shot0617.png

A gift shop in Main Gates. Looked empty :?

Shot0618.png

Sky Tower, the park's observation tower.

Shot0619.png

The queue line from the ride's cabin.

Shot0620.png

Another section of the park. (Is that brown building a theater?)

Shot0621.png

Two more sections of the park.

Shot0622.png

The parking lot.

Shot0623.png

More room for future expansion in the back of the park.

Shot0624.png

Entering the next area, Tajito Village.

Shot0625.png

This area has a Spanish/Southwestern theme to it.

Shot0627.png

La Empresa (Huss Enterprise) and La Empresa Snacks.

Shot0630.png

The park's drop tower, Mine Shaft Drop. There was no line, so I had 3 rides.

Shot0631.png

A more detailed view of La Empresa.

Shot0632.png

Turns out, that brown building is not a theater, but a dark ride, Haunted Ranch. It looked pretty fun, but it was closed for maintenance problems.

Check back for part 3 later!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Author's note: I'll post a list of all of the park's rides/shops/eateries later.

Looks like a pretty neat park! Kinda sad that the park chose RCCA over, say, GCI or even CCI. Looks like a decent ride, though.

I'm more of a business kind of guy, so I'm wondering about pricing. How much are daily tickets? Do you offer season passes? ERT events? Skip the line passes? Details! Must consume more details!

Thanks! I was originally going to go with Dinn or Cobb, but seeing as they didn't make any coasters around 1992, I didn't think it would be realistic.

Tickets are $30. (Lol, just came up with that on the spot. Didn't think about pricing and stuff. :P )

The park does not currently offer any sort of season pass system, but I have a flash pass type system in the works. There might an ERT session towards the end of the season.

Part 3:

Shot0633.png

The bathrooms in Tajito Village.

Shot0634.png

El Scrambler and Recuerdos

Shot0635.png

El Starfish, a Chance Trabant ride.

Shot0636.png

The park's 1950's themed section, Mid-Century Square.

Shot0637.png

Grand Stand's queue line. (Author's note: In this picture, [Taken around 2 this morning] Grand Stand does NOT have a catwalk on the brake run, or custom supports, but it does now [Which you will see in the next update.])

Shot0638.png

Grand Stand's sign.

Shot0639.png

Grand Stand's Brake Run (Catwalk added)

Shot0640.png

A look down the mid-way.

Shot0641.png

A shot from the park's antique car ride, Cab Derby.

Shot0642.png

Delirium (Huss Troika) and another installment of Gary's Grub.

Shot0643.png

The park's other kiddie section, Nifty Fifties Playground. It seemed less popular than Orleans Park.

Shot0644.png

The employees here are SO lazy. The one on the left was taking A NAP, hence the reason the line is empty, while the one on the right was rude and acted like she didn't want to be there. The service at The Blues (A snack stand located parallel to Gary's Grub, is much better.)

Shot0645.png

Delirium. It was a fun ride.

Shot0646.png

Some bathrooms and the Americana Theater. There weren't any shows today. The first one is scheduled for June 4th. (I checked in the Guest Relations center.

Shot0647.png

But that didn't stop me from sneaking a peak inside.

Shot0648.png

The last area of the park. (Fairgrounds.)

Shot0649.png

A few snack stands.

Shot0650.png

Gyration, a Hrubetz round-up, and Scream Machine, an Arrow Dynamics looping coaster with 3 inversions. (2 loops and 1 corkscrew.)

Well, that's all. Overall, I had a great day at the park.
Here's how I'll rate all of the roller coasters:

Connecticut Twister - RCCA Woodie: 8/10
A nice, fast paced woodie. (55 MPH) Though small, it's an iconic ride for the park.

Junior Twister - Vekoma Custom Kiddie Coaster: For a kiddie coaster, 7/10
Very fun ride for kid, but it's really slow paced at the end. Also, the entrance is kind of hidden inside of Connecticut Twister.

Grand Stand - B&M Stand-Up: 9.5/10
My first stand-up, and B&M. I really liked like this ride. Very intense, and fun. I like how the name fits the Mid-Century Square section.

Scream Machine - Arrow Looper: 7.5/10
What can I say, it's a classic Arrow Dynamics coaster. It was a little rough in certain spots, (Notably the corkscrew) but fun, nevertheless. It originally opened at a park in Pennsylvania in 1982, but closed at the end of the 1990 season.

I can' t wait to come back!

Sounds like a nice list of attractions. As for the pictures, do you use an Image Sharing site, or do you directly upload to SFGAmWorld? Here's an example with a picture of Raptor at CP:

Imgur:

SFGAmWorld:

RaptorCP.jpg

There's not too big a difference between the two in terms of image quality, but Imgur(in my opinion) is a LOT more convenient.

I use Sfgamworld to import my photos. I just feel that my pictures from RCT3 always appear to be smaller than others'. Maybe I'll resize the pictures next time.

Park Update

Shot0655.png

I got to the park a little later today, as I came after work.

Shot0656.png

Newly added is the Quick Pass. You can buy one for $30 and you receive a wristband. You get to enter certain rides from the exit.

Shot0658.png

J.R. Twister's Quick Pass sign.

Shot0659.png

I had a donut at the Pontchartrain Cafe.

Shot0661.png

A shot of Lake Pontchartrain from Sky Wheel.

Shot0662.png

Sky Tower had a 30 Minute Wait.

Shot0663.png

Scream Machine endures the corkscrew, as Grand Stand drops.

Shot0664.png

I finally rode El Scrambler today. It has a nice rooftop setting.

Shot0665.png

Haunted Ranch for opened Memorial Day Weekend. Honestly, it's a great ride, the 3rd best non-roller coaster attraction in my opinion. (Behind Mine Shaft Drop [1] and Skytower. [2])

Shot0666.png

A semi-iconic shot of Grand Stand, taken from Americana Swings.

Shot0667.png

Scream Machine's Quick Pass entrance. Rides that have Quick Pass include: Scream Machine, Grand Stand, Junior Twister, Connecticut Twister, Mine Shaft Drop, Haunted Ranch, Ship Dip, and Ferris Wheel.

Shot0668.png

I rode Connecticut Twister again. Still a great ride!

Shot0665a.png

I saw this whilst riding Sky Tower....

Overall, great day to be at the park.

I'll be back on July 26th!

Construction in the park spotted!

Shot0659.png

I got to the park around 10:00 A.M.

Shot0660.png

You can get lovely shots of Scream Machine from Main Gates.

Shot0661.png

This intrigued me. Is it an entrance to a new ride? New plaza? I can't wait to find out!

Shot0665.png

Okay, something's definitely up. I was using the bathroom in Pontchartrain Bay and afterwards, I noticed this tunnel. My friend Jerry thinks it will be a tunnel for a twisty wooden roller coaster. My dad thinks it might be for a new dark ride.

On a side note, there are rumors that the park is announcing next year's new attraction on August 31st at 7:00 P.M. in the Calico Showhouse. I'll be attending the park that day, so I'll be sure to report back.

Honestly, I think there's going to be more than one addition for 1993. My predictions:

-New water ride in the back of the park.
-New section next to Pontchartrain Bay by Connecticut Twister.

Shot0664.png

A lot of trees have been removed in Tajito Village/The undeveloped area by Sky Tower, and land is cleared behind the EXpress Cafe.

Shot0666.png

Could this be where the new attraction is announced?

Shot0667.png

Okay, Pizza Factory has AMAZING pizza! The cinnamon breadsticks are great, too!

Shot0668.png

I was somehow able to get this shot of the pond in Main Gates.

Shot0669.png

Torbellino is a great, classic ride!

Shot0670.png

I love how Grand Stand somewhat dominates Tajito Village, even though it's located in Mid-Century Square. Reminds me of how Iron Wolf looks in Yukon Territory at Six Flags Great America.

Shot0671.png

Got this shot from Americana Swings. My camera has really good zoom.

Shot0672.png

-The Blues- Snacks and Drinks. Great place!

Shot0673.png

Scream Machine is a hit! Gyration is too, but you can't really tell in this picture.

Shot0674.png

I'll end with this picture of the entrance to Main Gates from Tajito Village.

Oh, also, the park has announced a new event, Fall Fest, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October.
There will be Mazes and Walk-throughs and such. Also, rides will be renamed for the event. Sounds fun!

---Jacob Karse---
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry for the spam. I'll (Try to) start posting every other day soon.

Anyways, comment below what you think is coming to the park!

Also, do you guys like the new pic size better? (800 x 800)

NEW for 1993!

Shot0668.png

This view should be familiar to you by now.

Shot0669.png

The park has added turnstiles to the front gates.

Shot0670.png

I got a snack at Twister Treats before making my way to the Calico Showhouse.

Shot0671.png

Here it is.

Shot0672.png

Sure enough, there is definitely an announcement going on. The park's spokesperson, Marvin Holmes, was on the stage talking about how the park is doing so far this year and such. He also talked about the up-coming Fall Fest, starting October 2nd, 1992.

Then, he began to talk about NEXT YEAR!!!

coollogo_com-10634880.png

NEW in 1993 is Klondike Territory, a brand new section of the park themed to the Northern wilderness.

When it opens next year, it will feature 2 new attractions: Klondike River Splashdown: A Shoot-the-Chutes ride, and Mountain Climber, an up-charge, rock-climbing wall attraction.

It will also feature a new sit-down restaurant, and an arcade.

Shot0667.png

A promotional image of Klondike River Splashdown.

Klondike River Splash Down.png

Klondike River Splashdown's logo.

Also new in 1993, is The Lost Rapids, an Intamin River Rafting Ride which will be located in Pontchartrain Bay.

Shot0673.png

A promotional image of The Lost Rapids.

The Lost Rapids.png

Logo of The Lost Rapids.

Shot0674.png

This is what the entrance plaza to The Lost Rapids will look like next year.

Shot0675.png

After the announcement, I did Connecticut Twister, Sky Wheel, Ferris Wheel, Swingset, Grand Stand, Cab Derby, Mine Shaft Drop, La Empresa, and I ended the day with a night-time ride on Haunted Ranch.

Overall, it was another great day at the park, and I'm REALLY excited about Fall Fest and the new attractions for next year!

I'll only be going to the park twice more this year, Labor Day (September 7th) and Closing Day (October 31st)

I'll make sure to report back on any spotted construction in the park.

---Jacob Karse---
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, what do you guys think about the new rides? What's your favorite thing coming to the park in 1993?

Thanks! I tried to give it sort of an Atlantis/Rainforest Theme.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't get the usual "Front-gate" shot today, as I had problems with my camera.

Shot0674.png

A shot of Klondike River Splashdown's construction from Sky Tower.

Shot0675.png

Graveyard Gardens in a walk-through attraction located in Tajito Village for the parks fall fest, beginning October 2nd.

Shot0676.png

El Starfish is a very underrated ride. I don't understand why, it's one of the park's best flat rides, in my opinion. There are currently rumors going around that it will be removed by 1995, but nothing's confirmed.

Shot0677.png

Forest of Terror (Also located in Tajito Village) will be a less-scary walkthrough for families and children. The park will hand out free candy on the trail. :D Also, it goes around Grand Stand, so it's a great opportunity for rare photos.

Shot0678.png

Do NOT do Ship Dip after eating lunch at Andre's Pizza. My friend Jerry did, and, well, you can probably figure out what happened.

Shot0679.png

Connecticut Twister celebrated it's One Millionth Rider today. To celebrate, the lady in the red got to bring her friend with her for a half-hour private ride session. They got a whole train to themselves.

Shot0680.png

Le Maze of Terror is the park's third and final walk-through attraction for Fall Fest. Rumor has it that the first person to find their way out of the maze on each day of Fall Fest gets a free Quick Pass to use all day. This is kind of unfortunate for me, since I'm only visiting Fall Fest on it's last day, which means other people will have memorized the way out by then.

Shot0681.png

The layout from Sky Tower. Hey, maybe I'll just print this and use it as a cheat sheet for Fall Fest.

Shot0682.png

Scream Machine was running surprisingly smooth today.

Shot0683.png

On-going construction in Klondike Territory.

Shot0684.png

Who could forget about Orleans Park?

Shot0685.png

Good ol' Dive Slide.

Shot0686.png

A few props for Fall Fest were sitting on Flatbeds outside the park. These are signs for the park's roller coasters.

From what I hear, Grand Stand is being renamed "Fatality," Scream Machine will be "Death Machine," Connecticut Twister will become "Twizter," and Junior Twister is being named "Junior Twizter."

Shot0687.png

Here's a shot of the end of Forest of Terror. Looks fun.

I'll only be back one more time this year on October 31st. (Closing Day) Since I know the owners of the park, they are allowing me to visit in early March to report on the changes/construction in the park, so be on the lookout for that.

Opening day is Saturday April 3rd, 1993, so yeah. I'll be reporting then too.

Thanks for reading so far!

The park does seem to be growing quite fast for it's size. 1 million riders in less than one season? That's impressive! I'm excited to see what the Halloween event has in store! Also, I have a few tips for you to make the TRs a bit better:

-Try changing the camera to 'Freelook', it helps get much better shots from the path.
-Avoid saying rumors that will most likely happen with little 'substance' if you get what I mean. For example, El Starfish was rarely mentioned until today, and now it might get closed? If you had a few more posts talking about the ride experience, how it's changing, any mechanical problems, etc. before you start any rumors.
-Try to become the RCT3 character you're playing as- become Jacob Karse. Make the trip report like a regular guest would. Making realistic details make the story 1000x more believable.
-Don't add too many large additions too quickly. I mean, two water rides and a new area in 1 year? Quite hefty for the first season. Space the additions out- give the park some off-time with some smaller additions.
-Add more foliage! This was kind of annoying me(sorry). Try lining paths with bushes, adding flowers under trees(when placing them, hold Shift to move them over the tree. The texture jumps to the ground. To remove, use the area selection deletion tool). Kind of hypocritical coming from someone with a fairly bland park as well. :P

Hope these can help you improve this and future parks. I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to give some constructive criticism.

Sorry for not responding earlier. I was going to respond around 2:00 A.M., but my phone lost connection half-way through :x. Then, I added the photos to my message this afternoon, but I accidentally crossed off and lost all my work. :x

Anyways,

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just want to clear a few things up:

I honestly just wanted to put something interesting for the caption. I should've explained further details though. It's nothing but a classless rumor, and I don't have any plans to remove it in the near future.

Guy_With_A_Stick wrote:-Don't add too many large additions too quickly. I mean, two water rides and a new area in 1 year? Quite hefty for the first season. Space the additions out- give the park some off-time with some smaller additions.

To be fair, Klondike Territory is the smallest section of the park. (Smaller than Main Gates.) Also, alot of park's have done similar things in the past where they added too many things at once. (Geauga Lake, Six Flags America) While not exactly the same situation, they both had to eventually pay the price for their actions, just like Heage Lake might.

Guy_With_A_Stick wrote:-Add more foliage! :P

Thanks for the advice! I'll make sure to improve the park's paths and such, but most likely for the 1994 season, as the 1993 expansion is all ready costing the park a ton.

Closing Day

Shot0675.png

It's kind of sad knowing this is the last time I'll be entering these gates for the year.

Shot0676.png

Weird. I don't remember seeing the dip after the lift hill in Klondike River Splashdown's promo.

Shot0677.png

It's a shame Torbellino was closed, it's one of my favorite rides at the park. I asked in Guest Relations, it's only down for mechanical issues, and it has been since last week. I really hope this doesn't start any more rumors, like the one about El Starfish.

Shot0678.png

Here's the entrance to the Forest of Terror. Honestly, it was my favorite walk-through at the park.

Shot0679.png

The park added a bunch of dead trees to the path. They fit in perfectly with the theme.

Shot0680.png

Free candy, plus rare views of my favorite ride in the park? Just yes.
(Honestly, I love how Fatality's [Grand Stand's] loop looks in this picture.)

Shot0681.png

Grand Stand, er, Fatality, had some cheesy props scattered throughout it's course. At least it's in the Halloween spirit.

Shot0682.png

I actually won a panda bear from the skee ball game in Mid-Century Square!

Shot0683.png

I was too late to win the Quick Pass from Le Maze of Terror. Oh well, as it is Halloween, not many people were at the park.

Shot0684.png

Besides Orleans Grille and Le Maze of Terror, the rest of Pontchartrain Bay has been closed all Fall Fest. (According to my cousin who works at the park, Todd.) I'm not sure if it has anything to do with construction of The Lost Rapids or not, but regardless, there's not much we're missing out on. (Besides Skywheel.)

Shot0685.png

Wendell's Steak House and Barbecue is no more. It's signage was removed, and building closed up after Labor Day. According to my cousin Todd, (He works in the food department at the park.) the park is considering three possible options for next year:

1: A chicken place. - Honestly, I'm all for this one. Not many places in the park have chicken on the menu. While I'd much rather see this as a sit-down restaurant, it would still be nice to have.

2: A taco place. - I honestly think this would be a better fit in Tajito Village, but it would still be awesome.

3: A funnel cake place. - I like this idea, as funnel cakes are not currently served anywhere in the park, but I'm not sure two desert places right next to each other is a great idea, especially with how having two barbecue places in the same food court worked out.

Shot0686.png

In the last hour of the day, Ferris Wheel Snacks was giving out free pretzels. A very nice thing for the park to do!

Shot0687.png

I asked Mr. Calico about the rumors about El Starfish. They aren't true, and the park has no intention to remove the ride anytime soon.

Shot0688.png

One last ride on Connecticut Twis... I mean Twizter, for the season.

Shot0690.png

Unfortunately, The Diner will not be returning next season. It just wasn't bringing in enough money for the park. My cousin Todd says most of the kitchen appliances will be moved to the new restaurant in Klondike Territory.

Heage Lake.png

I got a postcard at Grand Stand Gifts before leaving the park.

Overall, a great first season at the park. I can't wait to come back in March.

Sorry for the delay, I haven't had internet for 5 days, and I only had access from public WiFi locations, which explains my lack of posts from the last few days.

Season Preview

I was invited to visit the park before opening day by Mr. Heage, so I decided to visit a month before opening.

Shot0737.png

I met Mr. Calico in the parking lot around 8:00 A.M. (I had work in the evening. :? )

Shot0740.png

Connecticut Twister from outside the park.

Shot0738.png

It's great to be back!

Shot0739.png

The park has added a sign leading guests to the park's star attractions. Brilliant Idea! Mr. Calico said that they are considering adding wait-time signs to the park's major attractions.

Shot0741.png

I was allowed to walk around Scream Machine's area. It's nice to get exclusive shots like these.

Shot0742.png

I took this shot of Klondike Territory from Sky Tower. All that's left is a sign for the skee ball game and for the restaurant, which will be called "On The Trail."

Shot0743.png

The view from Klondike River Splashdown's station is great.

Shot0744.png

Mr. Calico said he would have offered me the first 1993 ride of Grand Stand, but...

Shot0745.png

Train 2 stalled during a test run yesterday! The park is trying hard to get it fixed fast.

Shot0746.png

Grand Stand Gifts' building was given an extensive rehab, I don't remember why, but Mr. Calico said it was because an inspector noticed that something with the building's structure could easily start a fire.

Shot0747.png

Trees have replaced the unpopular Diner. I guess having two sit-down restaurants 500 feet from each other wasn't a good idea in the first place. Though I'm surprised they kept the more generic one. (Andre's Pizza)

Shot0748.png

Swingset was testing. I was the first person to ride it for the 1993 season. :) Perks of being close friends with the owners/operators of the park. (Honestly, I love this picture.)

Shot0749.png

Replacing Wendell's Steakhouse and Barbecue is Jerome's Breakfast Bar. Sounds promising, but I'm surprised they didn't go with any of the 3 options they originally considered.

Shot0750.png

Orleans Grille's outdoor seating is looking pretty nice.

Shot0751.png

The park's landscaping department has improved it's work since last season.

Shot0753.png

I was given the chance to ride The Lost Rapids during a test ride. Honestly, great ride, and stellar theming.

The park has improved greatly since last season. However, I'm told that plans for Mr. Heage and Mr. Calico to start a new amusement park, "Calico Lake" in Central Illinois have been cancelled because of how much The Lost Rapids and Klondike Territory cost the park. Mr. Calico only wanted the park to receive one or the other, but Mr. Heage wanted both AND an Arrow Dynamics Hyper Coaster. I heard from my cousin Todd that both men had a fight, which might explain why Mr. Calico was not in attendance today. (I also heard that both men do not come to the park on the same days anymore.) It's likely that Mr. Calico will be resigning after the 1993 season. Very sad.

Also, thanks to Guy_With_A_Stick for recommending that I use the freelook camera. The photos look much better.

Much better now. The landscaping and camerawork are much better looking now. Hopefully the tension between the two owners gets resolved soon. The rapids look great, as does the flume. Can't wait for more!

Glad you like the added foilage! Thanks :D

Opening Day!!!

Shot0767.png

Yay! It's officially the 1993 season here at Heage Lake!

Shot0768.png

It's been too long since my last ride on the Connecticut Twister and Ferris Wheel.

Shot0769.png

Scream Machine was still testing when the park opened.

Shot0770.png

My first stop of 1993 was the Connecticut section of the park.

Shot0773.png

Connecticut Twister has never looked so good.

Shot0772.png

Some local high school was performing a show at the Calico (Which will probably be renamed soon, more on that later) Showhouse. Honestly, it was a fairly good show, much better than the recorder concerts hosted in the theater last year.

Shot0771.png

I bought a Heage Lake T-Shirt at the Souvenir Shop for only $2.99! Opening weekend sales rock!

Shot0774.png

Also new in 1993 is the New England Games Gallery! Mr. Calico said it was a last minute touch, as the arcade games were originally supposed to be in Klondike Territory. Its space was previously occupied by a smoking area. I cashed in 500 tickets I won from playing Pacman for a skip the line pass! Score!

Shot0775.png

The Lost Rapids was the first ride I did. It had almost NO LINE more than an hour after opening! Actually, the whole left side of the park was pretty dead, pretty much everyone was in Klondike Territory, Tajito Village, Mid-Century Square, Fairgrounds, and Main Gates.

Shot0776.png

On The Trail had amazing roast-beef sandwiches! I would recommend this place for anyone visiting the park!

Shot0777.png

It's finally open! Klondike River Splashdown was the busiest line in the park all day! They had an attendant at the bottom of the stairs keeping people in line back to avoid congestion on the stairs.

Shot0778.png

It's not a trip to Klondike Territory without playing Yukon Skee Ball.

Shot0779.png

15 Minute wait for Haunted Ranch? Just yes.

Shot0780.png

Grand Stand was only running one train. sigh. My brother Neil calls it "Bland Stand." I think he's just mad because he lost his new hat on the the ride last year. :P

Shot0781.png

Dodgems got a sign this year! Looks nice.

Shot0782.png

As did Zipper.

Shot0783.png

Sky Tower had a half-hour wait. Also, all of the park's major attractions got wait-time signs. Great touch!

Shot0784.png

Good night Heage Lake!

I have some bad news. Mr. Calico has resigned. He is currently emptying out his office. From my understanding, he is opening his own park, 4 hours away from Heage Lake. I also hear he has rented some billboards near the Heage Lake and is going to post false ads blackmailing the park! I can't believe this! Despite this, I had a great day at the park.

The new arcade looks great! I also really like the new signs for Dodgem and Zipper.

I'm interested to hear what Mr. Calico has in store for us. It is kinda shady to be blackmailing an amusement park, but hopefully it all gets sorted out.

Thanks! I wanted to add some extra drama to the story-line, so I thought this would be a cool idea.

Calico Lake billboards spotted near the park!

Hey guys. This isn't a park update (I actually won't be visiting the park until July 1st), but rather an update on Mr. Calico's scheme to blackmail Heage Lake.

My friend Jason Kence was driving near Whitehall (Town that Heage Lake is in) when he spotted these:

Shot0770.png

As you can see, Mr. Calico has started putting up advertisements for his own park. The fact that they're right near Heage Lake doesn't help either.

Shot0771.png

I really hope this doesn't draw attention away from our park...

Shot0772.png

To make matters worse, the park is receiving an Arrow Dynamics Hyper coaster! The TALLEST AND FASTEST coaster in the world! It was actually the one Heage Lake was supposed to get, I hear. It was supposed to wrap around Lake Pontchartrain, but plans foiled.

Shot0773.png

Things aren't looking good for Heage Lake...

---Jacob Karse---
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, I'm not actually starting a park called Calico Lake, it's just part of the story. Updates of Heage Lake will continue.

Summer Update

Shot0776.png

Good morning Connecticut!

Shot0777.png

I got my first Quick Pass today, as the Fourth of July approaches us, the lines are just too long.

Shot0778.png

Mine Shaft Drop was my first stop. The line was over an hour long, and it extended past La Empresa! Thank goodness for Quick Pass.

Shot0779.png

Haunted Ranch + 1 Hour long wait = No thanks. Haunted Ranch + Quick Pass + No line = Yes.

Shot0780.png

This baby was next on my itinerary. It's still standing strong. (Pun intended)

Shot0781.png

But not until my quick candy stop at Recuerdos. (Note the family walking in the plants)

Shot0782.png

So. Many. Options.

Shot0783.png

The line was almost at the entrance. The park is super crowded today.

Shot0784.png

Americana Swings isn't on the Quick Pass, but it was a walk-on. So why not?

Shot0785.png

It's a beautiful day to be at the park!

Shot0786.png

The enclosed portion of El Scrambler's queue line is a great place to cool off from the scorching Connecticut sun.

Shot0787.png

Quick Pass was mandatory for Klondike River Splashdown. The line reached beyond On The Trail.

Shot0788.png

I was on the drop when I noticed this...

Shot0789.png

I got a closer view of the construction site behind the bathrooms. I know it's not anything big, as the park spent so much money on last year's additions that they almost went into debt. Luckily, the investment paid off. Mr. Heage personally told me that nothing big is being added next year, so I'm intrigued as to what this is going to be.

Shot0790.png

I got myself a bag of Cotton Candy from Splashdown Snacks before moving on to the next attraction.

Shot0791.png

I decided to give Mountain Climber a try. Quick Passers get a minimum of 1 free ride a day on each up-charge attraction. (Though Mountain Climber is currently the only one) instead of getting to cut the line on it. You just have to show the attendant at the counter your Quick Pass wristband.

Shot0792.png

But it didn't matter, as nobody was on it! It costs $20 per climb, so that's probably why.

Shot0793.png

The ride attendant didn't seem very interested in his job, he talked with a dull, sarcastic tone and had a rather nasty facial expression. Still, I enjoyed Mountain Climber. This week only (I can't remember why), they were giving free coupons that you had to pick out of a hat if you make it to the top of the wall. I got a coupon for a free ice cream sundae at the Heage Ice Creamery. Nice!

Shot0795.png

I swear, Sky Tower's line is always in the same spot...

It's good to be back at the park, but I'm sort of worried. Heage Lake won't be adding anything big next year, and a park only two hours away is adding the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world, and is advertising it five minutes away from Heage Lake. Additionally, Calico Lake, along with Predator, is opening April 7th of next year, the same day that Heage Lake will open for the 1994 season.

Maybe one of the reasons nobody is going on Mountain Climb is that it's queue is out in the open. :P Some trees around queue lines can really improve the guest satisfaction.

Nice update so far! I'm interested to see how Mr. Calico's park affects Heage Lake.

Btw, what CS is the rockwall from?

Thanks! The reason the trees are gone is because of the construction. : p

Anyways, the rockwall is from Station Jim's Random Things, which can be downloaded here: http://rctgo.com/downloads/view/9769
